myself and my 5 year old daughter have just got back home after a day at Gullivers near Warrington. we only live in manchester, but have never got around to visiting the place until today.
we got there early (10:30am) and there were no queues either to pay or for any of the rides at this time in the morning. my first impressions were positive - clean place, nice open lay out. we picked a path and wandered down it and hopped on each and every ride we encountered. by the time we were ready to come home (3pm) we had been on everything at least once and been around the site twice.
the rides are perfect for a five year old. not too fast but some of them mini versions of grown up rides so help them feel 'big'.
my negatives were that most of the rides and various areas of visible site were a bit shabby - the land in the dinosaur area which were witnessed during the train ride, was a bit of a junk yard for old bits of rides and dinosaurs, and though the alice in wonderland garden with car ride may once have been nice, old leaves had covered some of the plastic flowers and the garden decoration needed some love and attention. the circus ride was awful - very dusty and rather sad.
however, i must comment on the staff - each and every one had a smile for us and some went out of their way to be kind to my daughter. as soon as we had entered the place, gulliver mouse approached us to wave hello and to offer big furry hugs!
the price of food was not bad and i noticed loads of eating areas which we may use when we go again with a picnic - and we will go again. £9.99 Per person is not a bad price for a full day out with unlimited access to all the rides when compared to the average price of £1.50 per ride per person at most travelling fairs these days.
