“A nice little restaurant”

An unpretentious little Italian restaurant, reasonably priced and very friendly. The food is good, plain Italian. Worth a visit.

“Go on a Monday!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2014

First visit as picked with assistance of Tastecard. What a treat! A small homely frontage just off the main stream. There is in fact further seating upstairs. The maître d was a delightful and interesting man called Paulo who made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our meal. Thank you Sir!
The food was excellent and generous portions too. Will definitely visit again.
As semi retired, Paulo only works on Mondays. Why not brighten up the start of the week with a visit?

“Simply great Italian food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

We recently returned to our home away from home, Weybridge Surrey, Not surprised to find that Gianni's on Baker Street is still serving outstanding Italian dishes. This is the quintessential small, cozy neighborhood Italian bistro. Simply but tastefully decorated, serving quality, freshly prepared dishes. If you are looking for great, traditional Italian food, Gianni's will not disappoint. Make it a point to start with the whitebait appetizer with a carafe of chilled white wine. Please do yourselves a favor and save a little room for a slice of their lemon marscarpone dessert. Absolutely amazing! Thank you Gianni for another truly delicious meal.

“Lovely food & relaxed atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

I visited Gianni's yesterday for lunch with my mum (after having driven past it for years!) we arrived about one,& were seated immediately. The interior is quite small but you still have plenty of space & privacy. It has a relaxed, intimate feel, with simple white table linen. The friendly waiter/owner bought us menus and was quick to show us the specials. It's a challenge to find a decent Italian restaurant that doesn't rely heavily on pasta or pizza dishes so we were delighted to see a good selection of fish and traditional Italian meat dishes. My mum ordered the sea bass, and I went for the lamb in garlic. The waiter explained that they cooked the lamb pink & I asked for it to be more medium, this was no problem. A bowl of olives & a small serving of bread were bought to our table along with our drinks. The meal itself was delicious, real melt in the mouth lamb & veg cooked perfectly. The house red was nice & smooth, and even though we had previously decided we weren't ordering desert, we couldn't resist the lemon sorbet! I was pleasantly surprised at this restaurant, and we are already planning a return visit. One point to note : upon checking the bill we realised that the bread & olives that had been bought to our table (without request) were not complimentary & were charged at a pound a head each. As it didn't make a huge difference to the bill,I didn't question it,but did think it a little cheeky as no mention of a charge was made. But overall a fab little restaurant.
