When driving up to the hotel you think this looks nice, you get out of the car and then walk in! What a shame!
This is one hotel that needs a refurbishment, and a good one.
The hotel is staffed by young people who take no pride in their work and as for the food, well lets just say it is another let down.

Despite a lovely building and beautiful grounds, this is a seriously disappointing hotel. Advertised as a luxury hotel, it doesn't rate 2 stars in its current state. It's tatty and faded, with threadbare carpets, chipped paintwork and cracked bathroom tiles. One day our room wasn't made up. We stayed there 2 nights on a special dinner-included package. The table-de-hote was very limited (just one meat (fatty pork belly), one fish and one veggy) - we really struggled to choose something OK - and then were staggered to discover an identical menu the following evening. We switched to a-la-Carte - which itself only contained 2 meat dishes - both of which they'd run out of at 8:30pm. We had to create a scene and demand to see the manager before they managed to find us a very average sirloin steak each. During the evening, the toilets adjacent to the dining room ran out of loo rolls and had bins overflowing with paper hand towels. This was reported, but had not been dealt with an hour later.
Take our advice and don't go there.

Very nice hotel but terribly understaffed - we locked ourselves out of our room one evening and after much confusion and waiting around for about 25 min were they able to locate someone to open our door. Other than that, charming hotel with beautiful grounds.

I stayed at the Oatlands on a business trip and really enjoyed my stay. The room was large, very clean and the bathroom looked as if it had recently been refurbished as it was immaculate!

There were some nice touches, such as free bottles of mineral water in the fridge, a heated towel rail in the bathroom and a flat screen TV on the wall.

I used the hotel gym in the morning, which is open 24 hours. I had been warned by the reception desk that the gym was only small but I found it more than adequate for what I wanted. There was at least one of every type of cardio machine you could think off, plus some weights machines and a swiss ball. Everything seemed to work and there were TVs to watch while working out.

There are only two things that stopped me from rating the hotel as excellent - there were blankets on the bed instead of a duvet, which I admit is entirely personal preference, and the reception staff were efficient but didn't smile once!

I have stayed in this characterful hotel a lot over the past few years, and have very little to say against it, and many reasons to recommend it.

The location is convenient, a 30 minute train journey to central London, close to Heathrow, and walking distance to Weybridge which boasts a large number of restaurants. There is plenty of parking.

The hotel is a large, old stately home, set in its own grounds, with tennis and golf available to guests. The restaurant is good quality, albeit a little pricey (as are the room rates), although this seems par for the course in the expensive Weybridge area, as most places tend to charge London rates, or close to them. There is a good choice of rooms, with larger, garden facing rooms, or quiet, compact rooms in other parts of the building. Most have air-con, mini bar and ironing facilities, and classy decor.

The staff are always helpful and courtesy (with only one exception since I've been there). It is without a doubt my favourite hotel in the area.
