Went to visit our son, daughter in law and grandchildren (aged 2 & 4) on Sunday 21st October. They live in Wimbledon and we wanted to stay somewhere close but also near to Andover where my husband had a business meeting the next morning. The Oatlands Park Hotel looked an ideal location and it turned out to be fine. We all met up for lunch midway between Wimbledon and the hotel and then all went to the hotel. The restaurant looked really lovely and there were a lot of people finishing lunch which looked very good but regrettably I canot give an opinion of what the food was like. However, we did have afternoon tea which was very good and children under 3 ate free - with a very extensive 3 course menu! The staff were very attentive and the service was superb. It was a real shame that it was raining because we could not explore the grounds and walk round the lake. However, it did not stop up playing golf - the grandchildren loved it. Breakfast was self service - fruits & cheese etc., with hot plates for bacon & eggs etc. - very plentyful. This was a little disappointing as the food was good but not hot. I asked for a fresh fried egg as the one left on the hot plate looked a little sad. It came straight out of the kitchen onto my plate (which was warm) but regrettably by the time I got back to my table it was cold. Room was spacious and very clean, bathroom recently updated I would guess - all in all very good. I would like to point out that the management have done an excellent job on that staff training - very attentive and very professional. Well done.
Only downside for me was that there was a wedding fare on when we arrived and there was a limited comfortably seating area as most was taken up by tables selling their wares. There is only the bar area off from the foyer which again is small and where we had afternoon tea. Quite small and I was was concerned that the children were being a little "loud" as they couldn't let off steam outside. Some of the guests were there to enjoy a quite afternoon tea and I apologise if the children spoilt it for them but there was nowhere else to go - no TV room or other lounge.
After all that I would certainly stay there again and hope to try the restaurant next time.

Attended a family wedding here several years ago and then visited again recently for a lunch party and experienced the same attention to detail with food, staff, cleanliness all within very pleasing surroundings. We lunched with several age generations and found the staff to be polite and attentive with both young & old. Food was tasty, good portions & well presented although quite pricey - but expected with this type of venue.

Wedding reception from start to finish was excellent. Staff were polite, attentive and pleasant. Stayed over after reception and had a very pleasant night and breakfast was awesome. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Recently stayed at this hotel as we had a wedding there.
The building itself is magnificent and set in some beautiful grounds.
Reception staff were good and efficient.
Only a couple of 'moans' really.
The pillows in our room, (which itself was spacious and had a great view of the garden,) were exceptionally small for the size of the bed, however after our first night with small pillows I located some more (good sized ones) in the wardrobe and the problem solved itself.
Sadly we found that breakfast was not really to standard. Despite the huge choice for breakfast we found that many of the sausages had only been cooked on one side (part under cooked sausage is not to my choice) the bacon had been cooked very early and had begun to dry out/go rubbery. The tea and coffee, although each table/couple had a pot was 'stewed' however staff were pleased to bring fresh when this was pointed out to them.

As for the wedding food - it was totally amazing!!!

We had copious amounts of everything from canapes straight after the wedding service to chicken legs, chips and fish and fruit tarts, much later in the evening.
All in all we had a great time - maybe the breakfast needs to be cooked less in advance than it is at the moment.

This was our second visit to Oatlands Park Hotel. We got a good deal with a voucher which included bed and breakfast. Had expected, since we were on a discounted rate, to get an inferior room but was delighted that we were given a beautiful large room with a King size bed (two single beds joined). The view outside the huge window was quite lovely looking onto the lake. The room was very clean and the bathroom appeared to be newly refurbished. Lovely toiletries too. The selection of tea and coffee was adequate and the biscuits were nice.
The buffet breakfast was good although no vegetarian sausages! There was a large wedding party that had stayed over but we managed to miss the rush so the queues for breakfast were minimal. The staff were very pleasant and helpful although the voucher did seem to cause a bit of confusion at first with the reception staff - it was finally sorted out. The only small point was that they have blankets on the bed and not duvets and being such a big room with a high ceiling it got very cold at night even with the extra blanket. If they had duvets it would be perfect!!
