“great atmosphere”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Recently saw Mpeople at the Civic.great concert, we were allowed to dance behind balconies, which is great as alot of venues will not allow you to stand never mind dance in the aisles. Small and friendly, great view of the stage no matter where you sit.

“Rude Door staff and poorly organised”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

Went to see the Illusionists, The nearby Parking was an absolute nightmare to get in to, and in the end we parked quite a way from the Civic hall. meaning a brisk walk to make it on time even though we had set out in ample time.

Upon Arrival the security staff were rude and when I questioned why we were unable to take in a small plastic water bottle we were told that I would be ejected for having a "Bad attitude!" - This is meant to be a family venue and a little courtesy from the door staff instead of an attitude more akin to dealing with drunks at a nightclub would be a lot more appropriate.

The staff were not organised at all and a large queue outside with customers waiting to collect tickets meant the show was delayed by over 20 minutes! - There were also no staff on the balcony to help find our seats!

Although we enjoyed the show, I would rather go to a more friendly venue in future and this will deter me from booking up in the future.

“Good venue for 2-3,000”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

If you are looking for a venue for 2 - 3,000 this fits the bill.

Slightly old and tired but serviceable.

Seats are tight. Get an end of row.

“Dated and 2nd rate”
Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

I've been here for a few concerts. They really pack you in : for the seated concerts I'm sure you'd never get out if there was a fire, and we went to an all standing concert where it was so hot my wife fainted before the concert had even started. The bars are in the corridor next to the hall and are not able to cope. . . and the toilets, well, just don't go.
