Stopped here when could get in our usual hotel, just for one night following a gig.Service was friendly and efficient, the room was spacious with a lovely bathroom and a good shower (i often fond hotel showers are not very powerful, this was not the case here). It looks a bit old fashioned in the corridors but the rooms are to a good standard. would recommend.

We booked our Christmas meal this year after not visiting the hotel for 3 years.
Very surprised! the staff were polite and very helpful. The bedroom i stayed in had undergone a revamp. Huge bed modern decor and a lovely ensuite. The hallways to the rooms are a bit of a "rabbit warren" but are very well signposted to the relevant room numbers and it should be remembered that this part of the hotel is Victorian so they
can.t do much about this.
On the downside previous to this visit the hotel had an exquisite lounge area with the fabulous decor dating back to victorian times. It really was beautiful especially at Christmas time. This room has been totally
obliterated by the new owners. This decision was total madness as this gave the hotel something totally different to the run of the mill hotels in Wolverhampton. Whoever made this decision needs firing from their job.

Many thanks for your comments - sorry you dont like all the modernisation - it was before my time here - however from what I can gather the ornate ceilings still exist above the false ceiling - it was just time for an upgrade
Hope to welcome you back soon - Merry Christmas!

We went for our works christmas meal ,and not expecting the best at this time of year as sometimes you get "rushed food ", this was not the case as our food was brilliant , all 3 courses, Hot tasty and plentyful , the price was excellent too,the staff were great too as we were still waiting for 2 out of our party of seven, they didnt hurry or harass us in any way, very pleasant and efficient , all of us had the turkey and it was georgeous, this hotel has always had a good reputation for good food and it has recently been taken over by Mercure hotels and we have stayed in Mercure hotels lots of times always good value and good service,

Ugly, unconfortable, rooms not properly clean and noisy.
I had to stay there for business reasons and you know when you are on business travel you just need a good shower, a nice bed and a decent dinner.
I had none of the above.
Very old, no lift to the rooms, cannot control temperature, it was so hot and the window couldn't be open, moreover my room was exactly on the road, but in addition to traffic noise you can definetely hear each single step taken by other guests.
The advertise a lot their leisure offer, but the area is outside the hotel, so you need to be dressed to reach it, swimming pool very dirt as well as the changing room, hair dryer didn't work so I had to go back to my room with wet hair and it was raining!
Dinner was an experience... I tried to ask for some simple dishes, so I went for a soup which tasted as artificial and for a steak which was so hard that it was impossible to cut...I then asked for a coffee and it took me 20 minutes before they brought me the cup, as the broght the coffee without the cup.
Last time ever for me..

Room Tip: If you are really obliged to go there, ask for a room which is not on the main road
