Description: Tucked away in a quiet corner of Wolverhampton is the Newhampton Inn, an old-school pub with a fresh approach. Behind the impeccable Victorian exterior, we're one of Wolverhampton's most vibrant and friendly venues, brimming with character and characters. Where else would you find a wide selection of well-kept real ales, freshly-prepared modern pub food, live music, a beer garden, a bowling-green and child's play area? That's not to mention other regular treats such as the pop-up cocktail bar, barbecues and DJs spinning a laid-back selection of soul, funk and reggae? Under new management since March 2014, the Newhampton is being revived to its former glory with changes positively received by customers old and new... And there's plenty more to come!

“Nice traditional pub.”
Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

Visit here every now & then. Food is lovely, proper traditional home cooked fayre, none of this chain pub boil in the bag rubbish. Prices of the drinks lets it down though.

“Great pub. Ignore the negative reviews.”
Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

Visit this pub mostly at lunchtime during school holidays. Yes the beer is not cheap but you save on the food. Traditional pub grub. Chips, hot pots, pies and cold snack all quicky prepared and well priced. Coal fire always burning with a cosy traditional feel. Excellent beer garden for the summer.

“worse than terrible”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

We visited this pub as we were literally just passing. How we wished we hadn't bothered. Service? The place does not know the meaning of the word. The server at the bar was useless and got our order wrong twice, with no smile, let alone an apologetic smile! The drinks were overpriced and the food was abysmal. I had a BLT cob and chips. The chips were burnt and covered in flecks of old burnt food. The bacon on the stale cob was hard and tasteless. The pub was noisy and the decor was dated although the place was clean. Overall, it was awful and we won't be going back.

“Overpriced.”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

Silly prices, clicky punters and a less than basic menu. Not even a shadow of it's former glory. £3.50 for a pint that costs £2.50 in town. Not as good as its reputation makes it out to be.

Reviewed February 5, 2013

this is a very tradiitional pub, real coal fires, pool room, bar and snug, outside bowling green and lovley seating area with play area for the kids, a real pub with real beer/larger and a good whiskie selection, food is cobs/burgers or pies but is really good with the best chips.well worth a visit if you are in the area as it has a real mix of locals, students, businessmen, families that add to atmosphere
