This is a must place to visit , have a guided tour it is the tops, you get some very interesting info from the guides , so much better than trying to take it all in yourself. and also great to learn where some of our sayings come from, And don't miss out on the Tea Rooms as with all NT Cafes they know how to make a good cake......

Full of History and if you get a good guide -very interesting. Not just looking at paintings like most of Nat trust houses.

We visited on the Heritage Open Days weekend and despite the high number of visitors we had a tour through the house, listening to a guide in each of the rooms. The house is very atmospheric and its history is evident at every tour. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. The house is fascinating and old. The gardens and outbuildings were good and interesting. We will be visiting again, it is a very special hidden gem.

A visit in the depths of winter just before Christmas - we were first there in the morning and had a personal tour of the place with a very knowledgeable guide. There were preparing for Christmas so it was very festive - an informative and enjoyable visit.
