“well worth a visit”

Wightwick Manor and Gardens
Certificate of Excellence

Just a short walk from the car park to the house which was spectacular from the outside. It was interesting to see the pre-Raphaelite influence, although we did have to look up what this actually was when we got home. We didn't eat or drink in the cafe but enjoyed our visit, even if it did take us a while to find the place!

Wonderful attraction catching a moment in time of the of the great industrialists of the West Midlands; and their love of the arts and craft style, and the pre-rafalite art moment. Afternoon tea in the tearoom was A1, and good service
A must visit for anyone who loves this style.

Walked the gardens first which were very interesting ( not spectacular) especially the vegetable areas and Yew hedges. The house was a real treat as it was so nice to be so close up to the furniture, fabrics and displays. The staff were fantastic and not only so knowledgeable but so enthusiastic to tell the story of the Mander family home and its contents.

This has got so much more popular since we last visited it and the car park was FULL when we arrived. But it is so interesting if you like William Morris, the pre-Raphaelites and the Arts and Crafts movement. Good garden, too
