“AMAZING FOOD - Shame about the wait!”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

A group of us like to go around West Midlands in search for the best place for Indian Mixed Grills. We have been all over West Brom, Wolves and Central Bham so far and this place is by far my FAVOURITE place for this kinda food. Every food has a great flavour. The only contender was the Vine in West Brom, however after coming here it beats it! We order lots of food as theres a group of us.. so your talking Mixed grills, Naans, Curries, Rice, Noodles etc. The Masarla chips here are to die for! Normally in other pubs they just sprinkle masarla powder on the top - not here.. they are cooked in a sauce which is hot and soooo tasty!.

Deffo recommend!

The only problem I have with this place (that that Vine beats them on) is the time it takes for the food to come out. Your talking close to an hour as they literally cook per order - maybe thats why it tastes so good who knows. Either way its worth the wait!

“Very tasty”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

This place was recommended thru word of mouth for taste and quality.. I had chick tik bhoona, egg rice and naan all for £7.50.. I am very fussy when it comes to Indian and I was so impressed with the quality of taste.. Definatly worth it and 5 star restaurant rating on the food.. I had a takeaway.. The pub looks run down needs a big refurb.. I believe it's under construction at the back for restaurant area.. But definatly recommend for takeaways!! Value for money and definatly quality tasty food.. Well done!!

“The best home cooked Asian food in wolverhampton”
Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

This is a typical local pub, with local friendly people. A fantastic pint of banks's mild, always and the food is always freshly cooked which does mean a long wait at times. However the end result is so good we keep going back, every fortnight !

“Give it a try”
Reviewed May 18, 2012 via mobile

At first glance it looks like the sort of pub where you wipe your feet when you leave!

It's not a great pub in a great area but what it does have is tasty Indian food at a bargain price.

Two curries, one rice one nan £12.50 was all fantastic, chilli nan was one of the best ever.

We will return!

“Friendly, cheap and freshly cooked”
Reviewed December 12, 2010

The Builders is just outside the city centre but the food and price makes it worth the journey. A basic local pub, with sports on the tv and a very welcoming landlord. The food is freshly cooked to order, it's a basic menu but much cheaper than anything you'll get in town. It feels like a very safe pub and it popular with women as well as men. Children are welcome in the back room. It's not glamourous, there's always quite a bit of background noise but it's a real treasure and well worth seeking out. There is good parking and it's on a busy bus route.
