This is my fourth weekend in Worthing in the past couple of years, and having found The Moorings the first time, I have never even thought of finding anywhere else. Very friendly and a great welcome, with a cuppa after the journey (much appreciated), and a wonderful atmosphere. The hotel is clean, bright and comfortable, and I particularly like the USP of a friendly teddy bear in each room - really adds something to the ambience. Sarah and Colin give some great eating recommendations - they seem to have a feel for what different guests might like and are very knowledgeable about the area. I'll be back!

Room Tip: I've stayed in two different rooms, one at the front, one at the back - both excellent and comfortable and quiet.

I stayed here with a friend on business in Worthing. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, although they couldn't give us restaurant recommendations - whilst it's useful to be able to direct us to restaurants in the area, we would have appreciated recommendations. Our twin room was comfy (single bed each, table and armchairs, wardrobe, bedside tables) but the room was a bit dusty, not helped by having so many ornaments which attract dust! And there were so many ornaments and bears! Each bed had a teddy bear on it, cute touch if you like that sort of thing, but where have the bears been in the past?! The ensuite bathroom was adequate, smelt a bit of mould but was clean. Both the bathroom and bedroom were full of signs...are they all necessary?! The decor is very, very dated, but is lovely if you like this sort of thing (we didn't). The spare toilet roll even had one of those hideous dolls sitting on it, which made us both giggle!! We slept reasonably well. Breakfast was great, very plentiful, and good sausages. There is a very intimdating 3-4ft tall teddy bear in the breakfast room by the apple juice which was very odd.

Overall, lovely hosts, but too pricey (£75 for twin room). Mind the bears!

We are really sorry that our Guest house was not to you liking and disapointed you felt it necessary to mark it as only average. As we do carry 4 stars from both QiT and the AA.

But to reply to your comments: -
We did tell you where to find the number of the many quality resturants in worthing and supplied a map to them, we do not offer specific recomendations due to the nature of everyones individual tastes and the vast number of high quality establishments.
We do not agree that there are too many ornaments, but will review this in light of your comment
The teddies have been a source of great amusment amoung our many previous guests, we can assure they are washed regularly and you are not expected to sleep with them.
As with all guest houses we operate a programme of constant renovation and this bathroom is due a refurb this winter.
We are glad the breakfast lived up to you expectations, and were sorry of the teddy in our dinning room made you feel uncomfortable.
Many Thanks

Sarah and Colin's B&B is in a great location, very close to the seafront and shops. They are friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Good food and comfortable, clean accommodation. Enjoyed our daily chats! Will definitely be back when we re-visit the area. Thank you both.

Very pleasant stay in very clean and comfortable rooms. Great choice of delicious breakfast.
Location near the beach and close to Wotrhing town centre.
We (three teachers from Germany) stayed here during a school-trip and had a lovely time.
We felt like home!
Very friendly and helpful management!!!
