Chose this restaurant on basis of good reviews and were very happy that we did. It was a pleasure to step inside out of the unseasonably cold weather. We had not booked in advance so were lucky to be fitted in as it was obviously a very busy lunchtime. The waiter did offer us an alternative table upstairs but warned us we would be alone up there so we opted for the one available table for 2 in the main restaurant.
The atmosphere seemed quite lively with a mix of (mainly older) couples and a few tables accommodating parties of friends. There was a pleasant buzz about the room but without the frantic rushing around of waiting staff that seems to be the norm in some restaurants.
We were left to peruse the menus without being rushed and both opted for choices from the a la carte rather than the lunchtime specials. My partner's Nut Escalope was (apparently) very tasty with an authentic home-made feel to it and was served with an interesting sweet chili sauce, saute potatoes and a selection of vegetables. I also chose a vegetarian dish - Risotto Verdura which, again, was quite delicious and brimming over with many different vegetables.
After such delicious mains it was impossible to resist desserts, so we sampled the Apple Strudel (from the specials menu) and a Pavlova. These also were lovely and very nicely presented. All dishes seemed reasonably priced (especially compared to some other Italian restaurants, including the chains) and very generous portions were served.
So, all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our experience of this restaurant and are only sorry that we do not have reason to visit Worthing more often. We will certainly return here next time we are in the town.
