Clean and tidy hotel, staff friendly. Parts are a little tired but updating is ongoing. Unfortunately this meant some pretty loud bashing at 9am on at Saturday morning during my stay! Luckily I didn't want a lay-in.

Good size family room for only two of us. Sea view, looking down the promenade. Very clean and fresh towels supplied. Breakfast very good and definitely a highlight, even though buffet style. Sausages were great!
Staff all very helpful. Very satisfied and would definitely return.

Room tip: Depending on whether you'd like a sea view or def no traffic bothering you!

I’ve stayed here a few times and I’m sure I’ve posted reviews before. If you want a building that’s about a hundred years old with the charm and character of that period then this is for you. It’s not for me though. Creaky floorboards. Cramp rooms. Dirty bar area. Faulty fixtures and fittings. Wardrobes that would break if knocked. It just needs a complete refurb. And it’s quite expensive compared to the local area. Great seating outside for a seafront drink but that’s not enough to make me stay. Go next door.

Our room had a nice partial sea view but was very tired and could do with a fresh lick of paint. There were stains up the bathroom walls and the shower was just a trickle which only gave you the choice of scoulding hot or scoulding hot. There were nice touches with cotton buds and cotton pads etc in the bathroom but overall the room was disappointing. Also the stairs leading up to the third floor seemed to slope dramatically to one side which was nerve wracking whenever we used them.
