Visited Highdown Tea Room on a cold, grey Sunday lunchtime , the tea room is not large, but the welcome is warm. With bright red checked table cloths and a rustic feel to the atmosphere it is a welcome change to the high street type coffee shop.
The food is fabulous , mouth watering home home pies and quiches to stunning cakes and huge scones, Spoilt for choice! with portions which very generous, it is a great place to be on a cold miserible day, there is a choice of teas and coffee, latte etc. Soft drinks and ice cream for the warmer days.
It is a dogs walker frindly place with well behaved dogs welcome, and outside seating, it fits with most peoples needs.
The staff were friendly and helpful, will definitely got again.

Very nice tearooms. Good service and a great place for people with dogs, a selection of snacks and lunches and the outside seating is very pretty

This is a reasonably priced tea rooms that have a range of homemade food. I particularly like selection of different flavoured scones which are about 3 times the size of what you get elsewhere. I prefer sitting outside where you get a chance to see various birds or an occasional squirrel visiting the nearby bird table.

A cute little tea room/cafe serving the most amazing array of scones and cakes, lunches and drinks. There is a huge menu with daily specials - something for everyone. Breakfasts served in the morning too - I recommend the cheesy scrambled egg!

The cafe itself is a bit tired looking - peeling paint round the window frames, grubby glass and plenty of cobwebs - this place is crying out for a makeover - but this doesn't detract from the food and friendly efficient service.

If you are a dog owner or don't mind dogs, this place is perfect as dogs are allowed inside the cafe and on the terrace.

Despite the scruffy appearance this place is well worth a visit.

Small and nearly always busy, but well worth the effort. Lots of fresh, tasty home cooked food. The cream teas are amazing. Unless you have a massive appitite you might want to share!
