Visited this pub and restaurant on a snowy Saturday evening. Warm welcome with open fire in the bar with a good mix of traditional tables and sofas. The four of us ate in the restaurant and we were not disappointed. The menu gave a good choice of starters and puddings, all reasonably priced. The main course menu had something for everyone including two vegetarian options (one vegan), two fish dishes and traditional meat choices. The portions were generous, the vegetables all freshly prepared and crisp. I had the vegetarian mushroom and spinach wellington. I am often left out when dining out with no choice and the veggie option is usually something that has been bought in, this definitely was cooked freshly there. All four of us really enjoyed our meal and will return again. The service was friendly and helpful.
