“Nice hotel, great breakfast, no shower!”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

I have tried most of the hotels in Worthing having to work in Lancing every few weeks and this is probably one of my favourites. The hotel is old and quirky in a nice way unlike the chatsworth hotel, which is just old. I stayed in the superior room, and the room was very comfortable all except the bathroom, as there was no proper shower!
I haven't tried the restaurant as the Pub next door is great as well.
Breakfast in the hotel is exceptional, which may rival the Brighton Grand.

Good afternoon and thank you for your kind comments about the hotel . The bedroom that you stayed in does have a hand held shower but it is our intention to upgrade this bathroom in the near future . Thank you for taking the time and trouble to comment and i hope that we may have the opportunity of welcoming you back to the hotel again shortly. Kind regards Gerry McGrath

I had my Wedding at the Findon Manor on 3rd January, and what a fantastic day it was. The day was planned over a couple of months with event organiser, Curt. He was very friendly, understanding, accommodating and portrayed immense professionalism. A credit to the Hotel. The day went exactly as planned, the timings were perfect and the staff, especially Curt and Stephen, could not have done any more to please. The buffet in the evening was exactly as ordered and expected, with more than enough to serve all guests. All of my guests enjoyed the evening, with plenty of praise for the Hotel and staff, and not one complaint. The bedroom was large and clean, with a nice view over the grounds.
Breakfast for me was fresh fruit and juice, pastries, cereal, cooked to order Full English, unlimited toast and two pots of tea. All served in an airy dining area. What more could I have asked for!
Overall, a brilliant experience for all of the Wedding Party. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants an intimate Wedding.
Thank you so much to all at The Findon Manor.
Paul.
I would recommend The Findon Manor

Stayed at this hotel for one night on 8 January 2014 due to a family funeral. On arrival the Receptionist was very helpful and polite. We were shown to our room on the ground floor which was ideal for us as my husband has walking difficulties. Unfortunately, the windows were dripping with moisture, however, when this was pointed out it was soon rectified. The bed was comfortable and the room lovely and quiet. The towels in the bathroom were of excellent quality, unfortunately the bathroom window looked out onto the car park, therefore, the blind had to be down at all times. The hot water was in short supply, but not sure whether the boiler was having a bad day. I must emphasise that the breakfast was first class, everything being cooked fresh on ordering with the dining table having beautiful crisp white linen.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask about steps to the rooms if you have walking difficulties.

stayed 8th jan for 1 night, stayed in Bradbury star superior room £95 per night booked direct with hotel. room quite large and nicely decorated and furnished. large screen tv with freeview box. which couldn't get any channels on and poor reception hence not much use! ran water for shower for 10 mins and still only aired! nice big thick white towels which needed after cold shower! no mirror in bathroom. on the plus side on checking in nice helpful young lady on reception. beds very comfortable. breakfast very good. good choice and plenty of it. cooked breakfasts done fresh to order and waiter very attentive and pleasant. cleaners all said good morning. one other small thing I noticed when passing the cupboard containing the cleaning materials was that the biscuits to replenish the tea trays in rooms are also stored next to them! stayed here due to family funeral. when in area again will try elsewhere

Room Tip: just pay for the standard room rather than paying extra for the superior as other family members had...

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to comment on your recent visit to the hotel and regret the adverse comments you made. Bradbury Star is a bedroom recently refurbished however due to the Christmas break the delivery of new curtains, bedhead and chairs has been delayed.
A new bathroom mirror was put in as part of this refurbishment but unfortunately had just been smashed by a previous guest and we are in the process of getting a new one.
Upon checking the television it was found to be working with a clear picture so it may well be that the instruction s for working the television were not clear enough due to the fact that it has a Box.
We will investigate your comments about the water as this is not a comment we have had previously.
The biscuits you refer to were not in danger of cross contamination as both they and the chemicals are all sealed however they will be put on separate shelves for added protection.
On a happier note i am glad that overall you enjoyed your stay with us .

Stayed for one night, good welcome from staff. Stayed in the Bruni room, great modern, good quality bedroom furniture, but lighting poor and very dim, bedside light and TV did not work but were fixed quickly when requested. Shower was over the bath and difficult to use, toiletries inadequate
However both evening meal and breakfast were very good. Dinner served in bar/ restaurant, food good but a wedding party was in and they took over the bar area and would have been difficult if more people were eating
Would stay again if in the area

It's an ancient building, and has plenty of character as a result. The rooms don't have numbers. They are all named after race horses. Reception staff are friendly and efficient.

Breakfast was quite good, except for the muffins in my Eggs Benedict. They were inedible. I complained, but only received an apology, not a replacement or a refund.

Very nice place to stay, with a small country house feel. Good food, both for breakfast and dinner. Friendly helpful staff. No complaints but two personal observations, 1) bed was a little too firm for our liking and 2) would have preferred a shower rather than bath, but neither detracted greatly from our stay. Stayed in a superior double room, very good value for money, would stay again. The 3 out of 5 for sleep quality is based on mattress firmness only, if the mattress had been softer it would have been 5 out of 5, the hotel was nice and quiet at night. Would have given the hotel 4.5 out of 5 overall if it was possible.
