“Much better than we expected”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

We booked 2 nights on a Living Social deal and agreed to pay £10 pppn to upgrade to a sea view. When we arrived, the reception staff were very welcoming and we were given room 356. The first thing we noticed was that the decor was rather worn and dated but our room was large and had a 4-poster - overall very nice.
We chose to eat at the hotel on our first night - £16 for 3 courses. The waiting staff were very friendly and we were made very welcome. The food was fresh and very good.
In the morning I mentioned to the reception staff that the springs in our mattress were very noisy and when we returned later in the day - we had a new mattress! Very good service.
Breakfast on both days was fresh, tasty and well cooked.

Room Tip: Choose/ask to upgrade to a room with a sea view - worth the extra.

This was a one night stay with GroupOn for a Saturday night and it was about the same price as the Travelodge. The hotel was well placed, the room was clean but a little old fashioned and the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately our room was at the back of the hotel and looked onto the stagecoach bus station which started its day quite noisily at 7.30 on Sunday! I would recommend that if you are booking at full price you insist on a front of hotel room.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing steine.

Stayed 1 night on business and £40 b&b good value. Service good friendly welcome , helpful with supplying forgotten toiletries . Nice breakfast served at table nice change from all too prevalent buffet. Good location. Room overlooked bus station so noisy even with double glazing especially early in the morning. Room decor clean but hadn't been updated since the 80's haven't seen so many different floral patterns and so much wood laminate in such a small area for a long time! Good for a couple of night stay but if all rooms like mine decor might get a bit wearing after a while

This is the second year that we've used the Chatsworth for an annual conference of around 100 people and we couldn't have been more pleased. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate our needs and made the organising a breeze. The variety of conference rooms available and the charming atmosphere made it the perfect location for our event. Our attendees were very happy with the venue and we are already planning next year's conference - wouldn't dream of changing location!

I've stayed at the Chatsworth Hotel three times now and have found it to be excellent every time. The staff are lovely, the rooms are nice, the location great and the breakfasts particularly good. I would recommend it. They have some great offers, especially out of season.

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are best.

To prevent repeating what many of the reviewers have said, I would agree with most of the statements. It is superbly located for the town centre and the beach view rooms have a very nice outlook. This is the second tme we have stayed and it didn't disappoint. If you like shiny, glitzey modern hotels , then this will not be your scene, but if you like the elegance of the regency period, with the addition of nice rooms, good and helpful staff, a very pleasant restaurant overlooking the Steyne Gardens, this will do the trick. One word of warning, because the hotel was built 200 years ago, there is no car parking, but there is on-street parking outside the hotel and the management have secured very reasonable prices for parking tickets. This problem applies to all the Worthing Hotels around and near the seafront area. One other slight drawback, as the hotel is an old building, the wndows are sash type, and this time that we stayed there, a brisk onshore wind had it whistling through the gaps. A large towel solved it for us, but I did suggest that foam draught excluders might not be amiss (as they are not permitted to change the style of window) . All in all we can recommend this hotel, if you are coming to Worthing

Room Tip: The hotel is long and thin, thee are three types of rooms, sea view, park view and back view. The lat...

We stayed here for 5 nights over last weekend following my mother being taken into intensive care unit at the local hospital. It's staff and the atmosphere helped us to relax a little at a traumatic time.

The staff are friendly and courteous the food is of a good standard. The rooms are comfortable but a little tired but are very clean.

We look forward to staying again in less challenging circunstances.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden view room slightly noisy with traffic but better than the bus station the other sid...
