I've stayed at the Chatsworth Hotel three times now and have found it to be excellent every time. The staff are lovely, the rooms are nice, the location great and the breakfasts particularly good. I would recommend it. They have some great offers, especially out of season.

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are best.

To prevent repeating what many of the reviewers have said, I would agree with most of the statements. It is superbly located for the town centre and the beach view rooms have a very nice outlook. This is the second tme we have stayed and it didn't disappoint. If you like shiny, glitzey modern hotels , then this will not be your scene, but if you like the elegance of the regency period, with the addition of nice rooms, good and helpful staff, a very pleasant restaurant overlooking the Steyne Gardens, this will do the trick. One word of warning, because the hotel was built 200 years ago, there is no car parking, but there is on-street parking outside the hotel and the management have secured very reasonable prices for parking tickets. This problem applies to all the Worthing Hotels around and near the seafront area. One other slight drawback, as the hotel is an old building, the wndows are sash type, and this time that we stayed there, a brisk onshore wind had it whistling through the gaps. A large towel solved it for us, but I did suggest that foam draught excluders might not be amiss (as they are not permitted to change the style of window) . All in all we can recommend this hotel, if you are coming to Worthing

Room Tip: The hotel is long and thin, thee are three types of rooms, sea view, park view and back view. The lat...

We stayed here for 5 nights over last weekend following my mother being taken into intensive care unit at the local hospital. It's staff and the atmosphere helped us to relax a little at a traumatic time.

The staff are friendly and courteous the food is of a good standard. The rooms are comfortable but a little tired but are very clean.

We look forward to staying again in less challenging circunstances.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden view room slightly noisy with traffic but better than the bus station the other sid...

I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times, and always out of season, and it seems very popular with a certain type of holiday-maker; for someone on business it is ideally located and sufficiently impersonal for such a family-run seaside hotel. The staff are friendly and formally dressed and there is a sense of expecting Miss Marple to appear! Almost on the seafront and within easy walking distance of the town centre it is ideally located. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed with free wifi. The corridors are a little narrow and hostel-like and the stair carpet is in urgent need of replacement. The restaurant is pleasant and sunny with a hovering Manuel-like head-waiter which gives a sense of old-world charm and annoyance in equal proportions to someone who is worldly-wise about hotels but for holiday-makers it would have a mild sense of glamour and seaside class.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea-view because you may otherwise be overlooking a bus garage!

Friendly staff, clean hotel, good food, would stay here again but not in room 349!!!! The room slopes badly! Felt like we was staying in a crooked house!....The door has been cut to fit the door frame....the floor slopes so badly downward to the extent the bath has been leveled. Shame they hadn't done the same to the bed we didn't sleep very well as we were tilted backwards towards our heads! ...i know its good to sleep with your feet raised but it was not at all comfortable. we had a groupon voucher so I suppose we got what we paid for......

Room Tip: Avoid room 349

Big , old-fashioned hotel but very welcoming. Room was excellent only let down a little by a moderate shower with a screen needing a new rubber so it didn't swing open too easily allowing water to soak the floor.
Some folk felt meals were a little skimpy. Maybe it's because they've become accustomed to the overladen plates so common nowadays. I felt that enough was as good as a feast. Forgetting amount there could be little doubt about the quality and variety. Breakfast with four varieties of nut, yoghurt, prunes, grapefruit to make your own starters was particularly good.
We were on a bus trip and for anyone without transport the bus running from outside the hotel every ten minutes from Portsmouth to Brighton and stopping a lots of little town between is a wonderful service.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the park are quieter.

Booked the hotel for an overnight business trip before reading TA reviews and was then regretting my decision, how wrong I was!
This is a great, quaint seaside hotel. Best to describe it as faded splendour. Yes it's old and the decor is not modern boutique style but its clean and tidy with traditional hotel service.
Didn't experience the restaurant but well done Chatsworth House
