It was pretty perfect. Service was excellent, I asked for a banana at breakfast and it came with slits in it ready! Awesome! Rooms a little basic, needs more parking spaces and be careful cause lots of wardens come and inspect your car and give u tickets. The fair outside in some seasons can be noisy until quite late at night unfortunately. The manager was open and easy to talk to, we chatted away immediately. All in all a lovely place. x

Had a 2 night stay at the Chatsworth from 11 August 2012. This hotel is really nice..comfortable..clean..spascious light rooms...good en suite facilities. Breakfast was also excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel.
just one small fault was no air conditioning which meant we needed to leave windows open day and night but maybe this room was an exception...otherwise perfect. Thank you Chatsworth Staff

Room Tip: we had room 242 which overlooked styne gardens and the sea in the distance..very nice apart from no...

We stayed at the hotel for three nights in a family room (2 adults and a 10 year old boy). We were on the second floor and whilst we did not have a view, the room was spacious with a large shower room and air conditioning. The staff (both in reception and in the restaurant) were outstanding and the breakfast was excellent. We had a slight problem with the TV in the room and this was sorted out straight away. The location was ideal with parking outside (permit available for a small charge at the hotel). The sea is literally across the road and there was an excellent pizzeria next door if you don't want to eat in the hotel restaurant. The decor is a little tired in places but this is more than compenstated for by the staff and friendly atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If you are booking a family room ask for one away from the extractor fans of the restaurant next doo...

My group are members of Dover Active Retirement Association, we stayed last year for our Turkey and Tinsel break. Everyone really enjoyed their visit so much that they have requested to go back again this year. My only request would be to have a more varied selection of evening entertainment, eg, a comedian, I hope you can assist. The town is excellent, also the sea front walks are very enjoyable and close. The hotel was very easy to find round the corner from the sea front and overlooking a lovely green park.We were able to park the car opposite the hotel on the road as the hotel did not have a car park but this was not a problem as we paid approx £3.50 for a day parking ticket .
We were on the third floor and had a lovely sea room ,the room was clean and a good size .
Breakfast was good ,the buffet table well stocked though I would have liked to have seen some fresh fruit but apart from this everything was hot and well cooked and the staff were very friendly. The only negative thing was that there was a wedding on when we arrived and they seemed to take over all of the ground floor and then the fire alarm went off at night.People in their reviews seem to mention the night porter I found him to be very helpful and friendly but I found the day staff were the ones that could do with a smile and a friendly good day !
I would recommend this hotel for its location and lovely clean rooms.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and go for a sea facing room, as at the back is the local bus garages.

Stayed for 2 nights, room on the small side, particularly the bathroom. Good location. Breadkfast very good. Staff very helpful and polite except for the night receptionist who let the side down big time. A member of a wedding party who was extremely drunk knocked over a metal stand into a a coffee table laden with glasses in the foyer. My sister in law was covered in drink and potentially shards of glass but this individual just stood behind the night desk and looked at her. There was lots of little shards of glass on the carpet and many people walking around barefoot. Due to the night receptionist's lack of action the bride attempted to pick up the shards of glass until we stopped her. Eventually this member of staff (a good 5 mins after the incident) came and picked up the large pieces of glass but left lots of medium and small pieces around and never checked that people sitting nearby were alright. It was all very weird.

Definately a good 3 star, the location is perfect, the building is lovely, our top floor room was small but adequate for one or two nights, a week would be too long, our room though very clean needed a freshen up(faded paint, tile grout a bit old, cold tap on the bath didn't work etc;), we paid £115 for the night including breakfast and i suppose if the interior had a complete facelift the price would be £150, so no complaints from me.
All the staff except for one were very friendly and proffessional, the breakfast was exceptionally good, with an award to prove it.
I won't be naming the member of staff, but he/she has a key and works at night, a refresher course and a pep talk wouldn't go a miss, i bet he/she is related to the owners and has been given this job out of pity, really lets the side down.
