“Good pub supper”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

A surprisingly wide choice of food. It was good, and very good value for money. This pub has a dining area adjacent to, but separate from the public bar, and the decorations are somewhat dated. Plenty of parking, but wheelchair users would need to use the front entrance to avoid steps. Cheerful and helpful service. Better food than the outside might suggest. Certainly worth a try.

“Really good”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

Visited this pub for Sunday lunch. The last time I went for Sunday lunch it was possible to have anything else from the menu as well (I assume that's the same now) which is a great option if you don't feel like a roast, which I didn't before. We all had the large roast which for £8.75 each is fantastic value and too much food for all of us - the small roast would be enough. Good atmosphere and the food was nicely cooked. On a personal level, the vegetables that came with the roasts included too many potatoes when there were already loads on the plate. The staff were really friendly and happy to help and I would definitely go again - for a small roast so I can try one of the desserts!

“Excellent location”
Reviewed December 18, 2012 via mobile

Friendly pub on the edge of yeovil. Excellent food with welcoming staff and a good range of beers. Homely and compact. Would make a great live venue, although I have not attended the events.

“Good Pub”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

A comfortable pub with a nice atmosphere, the landlord and staff are friendly and helpful, some nice real ales are to be had here. Food is nice but it is 'pub grub' being wholesome and filling but nothing out of the ordinary which could easily be altered no doubt by the chef as most customers these days would like a more far ranging choice, but for saying that, the Thai duck with sweet chilli sauce is recommended, although the actual chilli sauce seemed to have come from a packet or a ready made jar but nice all the same. This is a old nice pub and not designed for the less mobile in mind, and I find the steps down into the bar and further steps down into the restaurant area a bit daunting, so it is easier to walk around the front entrance and enter the restaurant from here which is flat and level. All in all a good pub with plenty of car parking.

“Not worth coming back to”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

Two of us chose curries and were disappointed as they seemed to be packet or fast food preparations. Thai chicken curry was bland and strange in its bright yellow colour. The rice and papa-dams were the best part of this meal.
Suggestion, try using fresh, real ingredients and freeze in portions to reheat when ordered rather than offer what is currently served. Sorry we won't be back to try it.
