After many bad experiences in Wetherspoons and various other bars in and around Yeovil, it was a fantastic surprise to find such a welcoming and well presented bar called Modello. We visited when it first opened and we were enthused at how brilliant this place WAS. The burger (£5) was excellent and drink choice reasonably good. The service extremely prompt and very friendly. What a shame that it has drastically gone down hill in just a few months. We entered on a Wednesday around 1pm and was instantly disgusted by the cleanliness. Myself and two others went searching for a table and we were extremely disappointed at tables not being cleared and the flies were all over the food. We FINALLY found a table which wasn't neglected by the waiters/waitresses and sat down, ordered our food (3 x Burgers) and waited...and waited...and gave up the will to wait. We asked the waiter where our food was (after 50 minutes of waiting) where our food was and he told us to sit down, ''it'll be here in one minute''. We thought, although a little rude and abrupt, that's fair enough. What wasn't ''fair enough'', however, was that the food didnt arrive in a minute, instead 30 minutes later. Who would of thought a chef could take 1 hour 20 minutes to make 3 burgers when the restaurant was close to empty. How shocking. It didnt end there, we were still eating and the waiter kept on asking if we have finished. This really angered me as every table around us was uncleared yet he insisted 4 times asking if we had finished our meal. Probably the worst customer service that I have ever encountered, sorry, Modello.
