Excellent meal; as good as cooked at home - hot, lovely crispy roast potatoes and well cooked vegetables. Deserts were good too. Very friendly. Will definitely be returning.

“Lovely, friendly, traditional pub!”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

This pub looked lovely from the outside and has a traditional interior, they where busy but squeezed us in regardless. Our food was ready in very good time. we both ordered the steaks they were cooked beautifully to our liking the accompaniments also cooked perfect! We enjoyed our meal the Marston inn and recommend anyone who is looking for a well priced but well cooked steak to try this lovely place out.. Great value for money..

“Great food! Meal deals a bargain!”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

Dropped in for a bite to eat on the way home, on a Thursday evening, tried the steak meal deal (2 for £14.00) could not fault the food. my daughters had the sweet and sour curry, they enjoyed their food as well. Sweets were also tasty and plentiful.

The only negative comment I have, is advice to the new landlord, the meals would have been better served on the oval plates rather than the small round plates. There was enough food on the plate but you could not manouvre any food to cut etc. Service really good and you are asked soon after the food has been served " is every thing alright and would you like anything else" which is something you don't hear in many restaurants these days!

Good luck to the new owners, keep up the good work and carry on treating the customers as you are, and success will soon come your way!

“Gorgeous country pub!!”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

We ate at the Marston Inn for the first time yesterday and had a wonderful lunch with friends. The food was delicious-I can definitely recommend the succulent lamb steak-and all the food was beautifully presented. We received great service and the atmosphere in this traditional old pub (complete with lots of original features and an open fire) was cosy, friendly and welcoming. There are some less than positive reviews on here, from when the pub was run by different people, so PLEASE don't let this put you off giving the Marston Inn a try, as it really is a little gem of a pub. We'll definitely be going back soon for a Sunday carvery and to watch the table skittles tournament, or for one of the brilliant mid-week meal deals.
