“Great Location, Great Price”

We have stayed at City Lodge quite a few times now and with most budget hotels you expect to have a shower not working, a lumpy bed, and perhaps it not being very clean but this hotel doesn't do itself justice! Honestly this hotel is everything you need, it is five minutes walk from all the main attractions yeovil has to offer as well as it being five minutes away from resturants and bars all you need for a good night out. The staff are more than helpful and even down to the fact that when we were trying to book for christmas they explained they were closed and the next morning at check out we were handed a bit of hand written paper by the member of staff with a list of hotels in the area and numbers and managed to book our christmas stay.
The rooms are lovely -they have a lovely shower, bed is lovely aswell as having tea, coffee, biscuits and bottles of water and fruit - a comfy bed, a lovely tv to watch this really is something else - it is a lovely hotel with a lovely price and a lovely location - really dont go anywhere else - if you are going to stay then stay here! this is 10/10 every time, and my next stay is this coming weekend and i am as always looking forward to staying! - great hotel!

Room Tip: there are some quieter rooms available if you require them and you dont hear a thing - but do ask if...

Stayed here on business having been at other hotels nearby on previous visits.
Hotel was in the final stages of refurbishment and very nice it was looking. Very central and lower in cost than surrounding hotels, I had a great sleep in a comfortable bed. Big flatscreen tv on the wall as well as tea/coffe making facilities. Fresh fruit for residents was freely available at reception (where the staff very very polite) and in the room. Good thinking from the management.
If there was a flaw it would be that there is no breakfast. I would recommend the hotel found the facilities to provide breakfast, mostly people on business would use the hotel and going without, especially when there in nowhere about to have breakfast, is not good.
I will definately return on my next visit.

As with most budget hotels you expect some compromises, but with the Yeovil City Lodge they seem to have a good balance of the basics, with a few unexpected extras thrown in for good measure.

The hotel is situated close to the new entertainment complex, with a wide selection of restaurants, bowling, cinema, cafes and pubs and bars close by. There's also ample parking, as there is none at the hotel itself. Parking overnight was free and charges started from 09:00 so no need to be up at a silly hour just to put a ticket in the car before the traffic wardens appeared.

The staff were excellent and both the ladies we dealt with were lovely and happy to go that extra mile to ensure our stay was a good one. From fixing an error with the initial booking to ringing to check it wasn't us who'd left behind a mobile we felt they paid attention to the little details and took pride in their work.

The hotel is actually a collection of buildings and the rooms are accessed via a combination of corridors and courtyards. Slightly quirky layout in places, but it seems to work OK.

Our room was large for a budget room (we have paid a lot more for much smaller rooms) and was clean and tidy, well presented with a very comfortable bed. Little extras including free bottled water and fresh fruit were included, as was free WiFi.

There was no breakfast facility, but with the multitude of cafes and restaurants nearby that wasn't really an issue, and for less than £40 a night for a couple in a town centre location, we certainly weren't put off by it.

This was a 3-room family stay for a couple of nights in August 2011, booked thanks to the mostly positive reviews on TA.

Any criticism has to be tempered by the cost - which was very, very reasonable. All three rooms were pretty good, although two of them were very small and for some reason, despite it being cold outside, VERY warm. Our room (301) faced the front of the hotel and was large but very noisy at night thanks to the non-closing sash windows and late-night revellers.

The nearest carpark is very close, but you can only park there for a max of 5 hours during the day, with the machine having to be fed between 09:00 - 18:00. It was 3.80 for 4 hours.

Although the hotel doesn't do breakfast, there is an excellent Weatherspoons about 100 yards away that opens at 7am and does a good/cheap breakfast. Although it is a little unnerving having breakfast in a room full of people drinking beer at 8am... welcome to Yeovil.

Would recommend & book again.

Just stayed here for two nights check in very smooth, staff very friendly and helpful. Room small but clean and comfy. Hotel very central and perfectly placed for us to enjoy the bars and restaurants on our doorstep. No parking at the hotel but there was a carpark next to it car park charges did apply but only after 6 o clock on the Saturday and was free all day Sunday you just have to make sure you either leave the carpark by 9 Monday morning or pay for parking at 9.

Right in town centre, this room-only hotel has been nicely refurbished with bright, clean, comfortable furnishings and fittings. Staff were welcoming and most helpful. We had a good night's sleep and thought it was good value for money and very convenient for the town's amenities. Note the hotel has no parking and there are parking charges for the nearby car park.

It competes in the Travelodge/Premier Inns market and comes in with the average of those. Has some good points, it was clean, free WiFi, good TV, what few staff they have were friendly, good location and plenty of restaurants, loved the Polish one, real ale pubs and cafes nearby. However, it was noisy with traffic, no attempt and double glazing or window locks, ignored our request for a ground or first floor room, bath is slippery and dangerous, with no handles, if you’re having a shower but what really threw us was no wardrobe or hangers, just some hooks for hanging clothes on and the split level floor could be dangerous in the night. No restaurant but that could be a good thing, also no parking but reasonable pay and display nearby.
