Having travelled around the UK, Knapphouse was indeed a real find. A jewel in the crown. It is rare to discover accommodation that ticks all the boxes.

The hosts were very welcoming. The property is both idyllic in appearance and extremely comfortable, Easy parking, easy to find, in good reach of all amenities. The breakfasts are superb with so much choice offered.

Thank you for a most delightful stay.

We will indeed be back and cannot recommend Knapphouse highly enough

I travel on business a fair amount as a contractor and so I am used to staying away from home in hotels. I try to avoid the larger chains as I find them to be impersonal and not very welcoming. This means that I tend to look for B&B accommodation and so I have seen a fair few of them. I have stayed at the Knapp House for several weeks and as my contract is now due to run until the end of the year and I have booked my room for the next 3 months. One of the guests who has just left was there for 2 years.

I have slept in three of the 5 rooms and found these very comfortable, relaxing and spacious. The whole place has a homely feel and the hosts (Peter and Sheila) are very welcoming.

The accommodation itself comprises 2 rooms in the main house (although the Blue room is more like a small suite) and three rooms in the cottage. All of the rooms in the cottage have a double bed, one has an extra single and the last one can be made up to sleep 4 (one double and 2 singles); ideal as a family room. There are no thin partItion walls here and it is interesting to note that none of the bedrooms shares a wall with another bedroom so you can't hear the people in the next room talking to each other.

There is a kitchen in the cottage for the guests to use with a fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, washing machine and dryer and a communal lounge downstairs. This is quite significant when travelling as eating out can be quite a major cost although having said that, the Bell pub which is almost next door is a Hungry Horse and does good cheap food and there is a Chinese takeaway just around the corner.

Both the house and cottage have WiFi for the guests use which has been wired through to the cottage as the thick walls and thatched roof would otherwise interfere with the signal when it rained heavily. Thankfully, this does not happen..

There is plenty to do for families with the Fleet Air Arm, Montacute House (with the nearby TV and Radio Museum) and Haynes Motor Museum nearby. There is a path onto a small housing estate at the back with a children's play area and the nearby pub also caters for families.

All in ll, I would recommend Knapp House both to people who are in Yeovil on business and those who are there for pleasure. There is a website at www.knapphouse.com

I have stopped at this Bed & Breakfast on a few occasions while away on business in the Yeovil area. It is run by a lovely couple and from the moment you set foot in the cottage which is the annex attached to their own home you feel the stresses of the day just melt away.

It has a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook your own food of an evening and a lounge where you can sit and watch TV and chat with friends and other guests. The gardens are beautiful for a walk around or just sit and have a drink and there is even a swimming pool outdoors for the warmer weather.

The bedroom are large and airy and very comfortable with tea, coffee, ironing facilities and tv and own bathrooms.

Sheila one of the owners always asks exactly what you would like for breakfast and you can always rely on a meal which will set you up for the day.

There are menus of local places to eat around and also take aways who will deliver to the cottage for a really lazy evening.

Can not fault this establishment one bit and will be returning again and again.

  • Liked — Relaxing cottage with all the facilities you could want while away.
  • Disliked — Nothing to complain about.
