“English country pub experience at it's best.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2012

En route driving from Spain to the UK we arrived on the shuttle ready for lunch. The first or second exit off the M20 motorway had a huge services area but we decided we'd had enough nuked plastic food and decided turned right at the roundabout into the countryside to look for an English pub. Boy are we glad we did.
This place is wonderful. It was just a couple of minutes from the motorway but was truly in the countryside. Plenty of parking space and they welcomed our little chihuahua. It was lovely and warm on a very cold day and the owners were so friendly. There were plenty of locals both eating and drinking. The building had lots of nooks and crannies and period features dating back to the 18th century.
The menu was excellent with typically English pub fare and we had wonderful meals: liver and bacon and the 3 egg omelette. Very generous portions perfectly cooked and very good value. My husband tried the guest ale and was in raptures. Such a fantastic spot a moment away from the motorway. Assuming we do this mammoth drive again we will definitely include The Drum on our list of stopping points.

“A good, honest and unpretentious pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

I really like this place. The food is great and drinks are not over the top. Best of all the people here are pleased to see you, and I think this is reflected onto the locals who seem to be a very happy bunch. We happened on this place on bonfire night, and it was apparent that the licensees had pushed the boat out. The landlady had made hot spiced cider and the landlord had been busy with roasting a whole pig all afternoon. They had also gone to the trouble of putting together a huge bonfire, which was duly lit at 7pm. What a great night. They forgot to put the guy on top of the fire, so out it was rushed as the blaze got going, but it's head fell off, which the crowd thought was funny. Someone was rushing around in the dark lighting the fireworks, which were very good, even the ones that blew up prematurely. Great stuff. Oh, and surprise surprise there's a campsite
here, so if you're coming back through Dover, what a great place to overnight.2 mins from the M20. Enjoy , Pedroofpobla

“A perfect visit out of the blue”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

Having dined a lot at the usual places, my wife and I decided to try a new venue, after looking through many local hostelries on the net, we decided on "The Drum Inn" and a very pleasant experiece it was too. A large carpark and vast grassland areas welcomed us.The pub itself had a wide variety of seating with room to spare, dining tables well spaced, a good selection of home made food on offer at a reasonable price and fast service to match.
But best of all the licencee was friendly and made our visit worth while, the decor was fresh and very clean, unlike many places we have visited lately
Congratulations "The Drum Inn" on being a No 1 Kentish pub well worth visiting.
