Stayed at the wonderful Lavender Cottage for a few months and it has been the perfect property in a beautiful location....the village is so peaceful! Surrounded by beautiful countryside and wildlife, yet close to town for all amenities. Owners are kind, generous people, who really go that extra mile and for whom nothing is too much trouble. Always ready to offer advice or lend a hand, but equally very respectful of your privacy. The cottage is so well equipped, there was literally nothing that was not to hand.......a real home from home. Beautifully renovated and furnished, this place is an absolute gem. Spent much of my stay in a wheelchair, which Lavender Cottage is totally geared up for. I would not hesitate to book again and recommend it whole-hardheartedly.......fabulous!!
Every kindness extended by the hosts, at the start as you are welcomed, and during the stay as you see all the things that are available in the cottage. Thoroughly recommended and please be assured that everything you and your family need is there for you - and possibly a bit more! Wonderful location for wildlife, walks, centre of England and its nearby destinations, whatever you hope to see on your travels.
Lavender Cottage is a real gem, fully renovated, in a lovely, friendly little village. The fabulous kitchen overlooks the garden with its huge feature birch tree and all the rooms are beautifully appointed and a generous size. The cottage was impeccably clean with everything we could possibly need. Even more delightful than the cottage are the hosts, Mery and Jane. These two are beyond super hosts, they're in a galaxy of their own. They are generous and helpful, and took care of us wonderfully without ever intruding. The village is ideally located in the magnificent Oxfordshire countryside, with a great farm shop nearby. There is easy access to the train at Banbury for Oxford and London, or the North. We absolutely loved it!
The cottage was in a picturesque location and in a lovely rural village. There were two pubs within walking distance (for adults) and plenty of country walks. The cottage itself was decorated in a modern yet comfortable style and every thing you needed was there. There was space to sit outside and eat as well as a mini 'secret garden' at the back, which the kids loved. We could easily have stayed longer and would definitely recommend it.
Lavender Cottage was absolutely beautiful. On arrival we were met by Jane who made us feel super welcome - the fire was already roaring and the house was pristine. Jane & Mery had even left what I would consider more than essentials in the kitchen to help us on our way for the weekend.
We are very much looking forward to staying again & would highly recommend if you and your family or friends want to have a short break away in the beautiful Cotswolds.

We simply loved it. After several holiday places this is my absolute favorite. Everything we needed was present including a well filled fridge ,a bottle of wine and some crisp.Even some fruit on display.
2 bathrooms for 5 persons is quite luxury. The atmosphere of the cottage is relaxation and the beautiful garden is filled with nice birds and squirrels. We've spotted deers at just 50 meters from the premises and the sky was full of stars which were well vissible because there almost was no light pollution.Don't be afraid if you hear outside screaming at night. Owls are responsible for that spooky sound.Even Brown trout and river lobster in the little stream next to the cottage . All of that at just a 20 minutes bike ride from the beautiful city center of Banbury.Mery and Jane are the perfect hostesses with nice tips for nearby events . Can't wait to visit Lavender cottage again in summer time.
