The perfect place to stay while exploring, is Hanwell House. There can’t be better hosts than Jan and Nigel or a more comfortable bed, even if “Buckingham Palace” does decide to open a B&B. Hanwell House is like visiting friends, except you can have as much or as little conversation as you wish. Sit in the garden or move directly to the sumptuous breakfast you ordered the night before. We’ll were there 5 days and worked our happy way through the menu! It's all best quality.
Jan doesn’t serve dinner, otherwise it would be BB&D, but she does go the extra mile whenever possible. Example: The fish I bought for a picnic lunch looked cooked. It wasn’t. Jan volunteered to cook it for us and threw in (not the right word choice for the way she does things) chips and introduced us to mushy peas. Another great thing, historian Nigel, produced an interesting walking tour guide of Banbury. We want to be on their list of “Returning Guests”!
