The ancient oak beams , the huge wooden fireplace surround, the comfortable seating and open fire all give this place a wonderfully cosy feeling on a rainy day in February . Hook Norton beers are well kept and staff are friendly. The only down side being that they gave the TV remote to one of the locals who felt it necessary / amusing to change the spirits channels at his whim whether anybody was watching (apart from him) or not which was such an irritating background distraction, we left after one drink and went elsewhere .
