Description: Thai cooks have never been in the habit of recording measurements of ingredients or time of cooking. They cook by experience and " feel" and the art of ancient recipes handed down in families, by practice. The Thai make much use in their food with such condiments, seasonings, sauces and flavourings such as fish sauce ( nam pla), including cardamom, coriander, anise, and other seeds, cloves, nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon. Lunch is a light meal of noodles or fried rice. The main meal, one of rice with two or three dishes, is eaten in the evening. The dishes are not courses and are served all at the same time with plain steamed rice. You are meant to take a mouthful of this and a mouthful of that, some rice in between, in whatever order you like, enjoying the different tastes and textures of each mouthful.

Don't be fooled by the rather basic, minimalist furnishings. This is a high quality, compact Thai restaurant. If you are new to Thai food, try their set menu. The food is all very well prepared and exceptionally presented. The service is very friendly and efficient. The restaurant was recommended to us locally and we were delighted with the experience. We went early evening on a Thursday, without booking, and were able to get a table for four. By the time we left, the restaurant was full.
Fully recommended!

now made several visits to this establishment and by far my favourite Thai restaurant in Banbury, sevice is excellent and the food light and fresh.not being very good at choosing from quite large menu's we usually go for the special set menus depending on how many of us are dining.these tend not to be very spicy so we often will add a couple of spicier dishes to go along side the set menu choices.it does lack a little atmosphere and is brightly lit especially downstairs so try and get seated upstairs.food and wine is sensibly priced,a great place for couples or small parties, enjoy.

This is one of our regular haunts and we much prefer it to the busier Thai Orchid.

The menu is very nearly there for us, but just needs a little more authentic Thai food to make it 5*. Som Tum is a favourite that's missing, but I'm guessing it's a limited market in Banbury to maintain a stock of green papaya. However, teh food has always been fresh and flavourful.

Service has always been friendly and efficient and we have never had a complaint. Atmosphere is lacking a bit with the restaurant being small and overlit. I suppose this makes it quite authentically Thai :)

We ate there again last night with friends and a generous meal for 4, including a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and 3 Singhas was £108. We thought that this was excellent value.

Banbury is blessed with at least two really nice Thai restaurants (the Thai Orchid being the other), each has their strong points, and I eat in either with pleasure. Siam House is the smaller, and somewhat less formal of the two, friendly pleasant service, has the feel of a family-run establishment.

The menu is pretty much what you would expect in a Thai, with some good two and three course deals. In a couple of visits I had several different dishes, none of of which disappointed (Tom Kha soup, Duck Red Curry and Chicken Pad Thai) and to be honest I should probably give 4 stars rather than 5 (nice but not truly exceptional) but ... the BBQ Spare Ribs! They have got to be the best I can ever recall eating in a Thai or Chinese restaurant! Meltingly tender meat, sweet and spicy sauce, generous portion. Simply need to go back and try again!

I have never been here before and we have a few Thai places to choose this is now a join 1st for my favourite Thai place to eat. Great place to meet friends, staff and food are great the décor could do with an update but other than that it’s a lovely place. 8 out 10
