Grubby & shabby. From our first meeting of, presumably the owner, he didn't bother to introduce himself, it was apparent he couldn't wait to get our money. Though we had mentioned on our booking form that we had dietary needs he denied receiving this information. Funny he got the booking though! He then made it abundantly clear he just couldn't give a [--], giving us a load of [--] about health & safety requiring separate cooking facilities, which doesn't seem to apply to the many restaurants we eat in. We felt really sorry for the breakfast staff as they were pleasant but had obviously received little training and what little we could eat was of really poor quality and not cooked properly e.g semi frozen hash brown. Would we stay there again, what do you think?

Firstly the hotel is not shabby or grubby, most hotels take the money on arrival i greeted you with hello and went through door codes and broadband and times.
You pointed out that you are vegan, rather than spoil your meal or cheat in my honesty i told you i cannot cook vegan as all my cooking implements have touched meat.
I didn't notice it on the booking and i did say sorry.
As for your comments on the breakfast staff they are very good and very hard working.
again the hash brown are not frozen as they are cooked the day before and re heated so its beyond me if they were frozen.
Sorry again but i cannot do everything and rather than disappoint and spoil your meals.

Back entrance from car park, dark, no lights at all. Dark carpet, dark woodwork, found smallest reception desk ever, eventually. Man on duty not interested in me as a guest, given key, took payment and disappeared! Linen clean, only good thing about room! Only person eating dinner, had fabulous steak!! Got from "Adams Farm" - big plus. Breakfast in dining room full of furniture that had seen better days 40 years ago! Must admit, was a bit worried about reasonable price but did not expect such gloom. Never explored hotel, as when I looked up staircase, there was a large mattress leaning against the wall! I always put experiences like this away to tell friends to make them laugh!

Room Tip: Don't go!

I am glad that, when going on Trip Advisor, I was not the only one who's first throught was " very rude owener". I never actually got to the hotel, as had to cancel my booking, so am in no position to comment on the quality of the rooms. But, can certainly confirm that the owner was extremenly rude about my cancellation, very un accommodating, and spoke to me like I was a teenager making a crank booking and trying to "get my own way" about getting a refund.
He also refused to speak to me on the phone. Extremely riled, as just not used to this. An explanation/ discussion / some degree of courtesy is what one normally experiences when speaking directly with the hotel owner, and explainign a genuine situation. I got the distinct impression that this was not the " lovely family-run business" it describes itself as. First impresions from me - admittedly from afar - BAD!

Exterior/Interior all very dated/decor/furnishings/cleanliness all substandard/Public loo full to brim with tissue, reported but left it/Asked to pay on checkout £10 for our 2 dogs/refused to pay this/never informed of this charge on booking/room not worth even £30 a night/Lady on checkout was understanding & accepted this and wavered charge & would pass on our complaints/After leaving, owner rang/accused our dog of pooing in reception/threatened to send it to us/which he did(could be any dogs poo) stupidly along with his business card/strange how lady didn't mention any poo to us on checkout/I certainly would have done if it was my establishment/Advised to report to Royal Mail/Breach of postal Regs to post excrement/Under S1 Malicious Communications Act 1998 it's an offence to send anything offensive/indecent/threatening to someone/Breaching the Postal services Act 2000 S85/Communications Act 2003 S127 is an offence/all likely to receive a fine. He has no proof but we do as he sent poo with his business card, silly!!We could take this further but we will not stoop so low as this guy has done, lucky for him I say/guess he didn't like the truth. Please be aware. Safe to say we will NOT RETURN

This lady refused to pay for the dogs, i never charged her for the girls who had to clean the foul in the middle of reception, We were call liars and she said they had been out and found some dog mess.
I posted the mess to her to prove it and she did receive it and said i was childish.
Most dog owner are good but this one well you always get 1 in all my years another first she never even said sorry to my girls other hotel owners beware not a person to have in you hotel, the fine in Banbury is £2000 and its a good job i was not at the hotel. Yes i was rude with every right.

We stayed one night in a chalet room, This was nice and clean, and adequate for our single nights stay. The room was a bit small but all facilities fine. It would have been helpful if the towel rail in our room, No.45, had been repaired or replaced as there was no where to hang the 2 bath towels.

The breakfast was very nice, and plentiful. however there was a problem with the coffee machine, meaning little coffee available.

We felt the main hotel and our room could do with redecorating , it was a bit 1980s

No warm welcome or greeting on arrival. The rooms were very dated and in need of some tlc i.e. broken bath panel, furniture in need of repair and poor finish in bathroom. The room was clean, and the bed was comfy, and the breakfast service was an improvement on what we had previously experienced the night before. But Overall, the room was over priced for what it was and we would Not return in its current state. It Could however be a really nice hotel as the location is brilliant.

Stayed with my partner the room was far bigger than I expected - great!
Clean hotel with very friendly staff, we ate in the Bar on our second night as we thought it was nicer than the places in the centre that we had looked at the previous evening.
If we ever have a weekend away in the Banbury area again we will be back!
