“Great little resturant”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

We have known about Otters Restaurant for as long as it’s been in the village and always had the idea that it was expensive and a bit exclusive. It was by chance that we saw the menu and realised that it was worth a visit and we are so glad we did.
Our party of four had a lovely time. The food was of very high quality, really tasty and very good potions. The menu though small (but certainly enough variety) had something for everyone including meat, fish, vegetarian and game. We were looked after really well by the owner and his son and could not have asked for better service. Otters is well worth a visit and I only wished we had visited earlier. However from now on we will be regular visitors as compared with other establishments we have tried in the area Otters is one of the best. Our next visit will be for lunch ...where else can you get a 3 course lunch for £10.00!

“Best for miles”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

We ate here Saturday, first visit with family friends. Well received, attention courteous and discreet. Food wonderful two of us had the Duck, one the Lamb and one the Fish special. We didn't attempt the deserts as the starter & main course defeated us. Food and three bottles of wine came to £135.00. We were not rushed, however the place was quite quiet and we enjoyed a pleasant and convivial evening.

We all agreed though that the restaurant downstairs lacked real atmosphere and felt a little unloved. The Ladies did visit the facilities on the first floor which on the evening we visited was not in use and they commented that the decor and ambience was far better than downstairs.

Dont let that put you off though, you will travel far to eat better or be better received.

“wow!”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

I ate here last night with friends, the whole experience was great, the food is wonderful and the portion sizes are really good. we all but one had the lamb, which all came cooked to order and cooked to perfection. The desserts were ok, although all seemed to be bought in, which is a shame after such a good main. Good service and relaxed atmosphere, cant wait to go again.

“a gem in lovely country village”
Reviewed June 15, 2012

we have been to the Otter a couple of times now and the food is always good
the owner/chef is always welcoming, the last time we were there there was a wedding at the church next door he told us to sit in the window so we could see all the comings and goings
so we had lunch with a free show
food is cooked fresh so you dont mind waiting, the portion size is right and its tasty food, will be going back again soon
try this instead of the local pubs in the village
