“Good Pub Grub”

Passed upon this charming pub while out walking and wasn't disappointed.
Only had a light lunch but food was well cooked and good value.
Lovely surroundings in a pleasant little village. Would definitely return.

“Amazing surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014

Came past this cosy looking place on the way to the nearby Best Western and decided to eat here wanting something different from the hotel.
Our host was a gentleman I believe is the owner (Nick Saul), and he was friendly and welcoming to a place he clearly puts all his effort into. He explained that the mussels and prawns mix starter I was after he could make smaller because it was a slightly bigger portion and I wanted the steak, then he went on to explain how he makes the "stilton stuffed fillet steak", which sounded divine so that is what I my partner and I went for and it was cooked medium rare perfectly. It didn't even need any extra sauce because of the cheese inside which wasn't overbearing.
Couldn't manage dessert, but it was a lovely surprise little place and I would love to go again if I'm ever in the area!

“Lovely family meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2014 via mobile

A party of 10 with children. We were warmly welcomed. Drinks were reasonably priced and served at the right temperature. We were a little late ordering but this wasn't a problem. The host and chef were very accommodating to the extras we asked for. Food was served promptly and very tasty. Children's portions were large.
Overall a very lovely afternoon. Thank you.

“Great hosts”

Really good food in this lovely old pub in Drayton, near Banbury. Beautiful village, very quiet but the place was busy on a week day lunchtime so obviously popular. The couple who ran it were just delightful!
