“Fantastic, luxurious home away from home”
Reviewed May 17, 2018 for a stay in February 2018

Having moved my business from London to the Banbury area in early 2018, I required a quality, yet affordable home-from-home for several weeks while I looked for a permanent residence to live. I feel so very fortunate to have discovered Honeysuckle Cottage, which forms one of a trio of Barry Powell’s idyllic Hillside Cottages retreat in the heart of rural Warmington village.
Boasting bespoke furnishings and spotless decor, a four poster bed resplendent with Egyptian cotton and plump pillows, a full kitchenette, free broadband and Freeview TV, not to mention secure parking and acres of immaculate private grounds, one did feel truly to the Manor Born.
With Barry’s charming and attentive nature, coupled with the outstanding amenities, I was genuinely reluctant to leave this countryside haven. It is the only place I would recommend to family, friends or any discerning traveller wishing find a base with the freedom of a self-catered option, from which to explore the best this part of the country has to offer.
Minutes from the M40, the historic market town of Banbury and nestled alongside the Cotswolds, this is a rare gem not to be missed.

“Brilliant Stay”
Reviewed September 5, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

I'll break this into sections.

Directions - Perfect directions from Barry and easy to find.

Host - Barry was genuinely a perfect host. Very helpful on lead up to the holiday and responded quickly to any questions. When we arrived he made us feel very welcome and gave great recommendations of where to visit and where to eat. Throughout our stay he gave us great tips on local attractions to spend some time at.

Location - We found it a great location. Nice and rural so it was very peaceful at night.

The Cottage - First impressions were that it was great and this proved correct. The small courtyard of properties is stunning. Our cottage was finished to a very high standard and it was obvious a lot of time and effort had been spent in getting the properties right, and there's everything within that anyone could want.

We had a fantastic week and couldn't praise Barry highly enough. The area is great, the cottage fantastic and I couldn't recommend the overall holiday highly enough.

If there's two of you, looking for a break that can take in the Cotswolds, a visit to London ( 50 mins on train), Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, and Warwick area, booking this cottage would be perfect.

Massive thanks to Barry for your hospitality .

“Comfortable cottage in a peaceful country setting.”
Reviewed August 17, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We had a great stay, the cottage was a perfect size for two people and had a small kitchen. Barry was very helpful and easy to communicate with, he was there if needed but didn't intrude. His recommendation for the local pub (The Falcon) was a winner, we had some good meals there and the setting is beautiful. Honeysuckle Cottage was a relaxing place to stay.

“A real gem of a find”
Reviewed July 19, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We wanted somewhere which was close to Silverstone, Bicester and the beautiful countryside. This cottage was perfect for everything. A snug little cottage with everything we needed and a lovely outside area to watch the rabbits bouncing around while having a glass of wine.
The cottage was beautifully decorated and very comfortable.
Barry was the perfect host and couldn't be more helpful - suggesting a local pub for dinner and giving me somewhere to watch the Wimbledon final!
Thank you Barry, we hope to return sometime!

“Beautiful location”
Reviewed June 25, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Located in an idyllic rural setting, these cottages are near the village of Warmington, just out of Banbury. Banbury doesn't have much in the way of tourist sites, but it did make a good base for day trips to Warwick, the Cotswolds, Stratford, Oxford and Blenheim. The four poster bed is very comfortable and the room is well equiped. A couple of things to note if you are an international visitor: it's compact. Honeysuckle Cottage is one of two studios in the same building which also includes the owners/guests laundry. Not a lot of room for large suitcases. The laundry is locked, so you need to negotiate times for use with the owner. As the iron and ironing board is also there it can be inconvenient. I understand it's also where the hair dryer resides. We did find the cottage a little exposed to the comings and goings of other guests, so not sure how that would play out for a romantic getaway! Barry the owner is very visible and very helpful. One the whole a positive experience but I just wanted to include honest feedback that would have been helpful to us when considering this studio room.

“Excellent clean well furnished accommodation with the most hospitable host”
Reviewed June 17, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Only stayed in Honeysuckle the one night & then moved to Lavender Cottage. we were on holiday for 7 nights & just felt Honeysuckle a bit tight for room for such a lengthy stay. Notwithstanding this Honeysuckle is excellently furnished, spotlessly clean & ideal for a couple of nights. The attached property, Lavender is slightly larger & has a better sitting area & with Honeysuckle is spotlessly clean & well maintained. Barry is a wonderful host & nothing is to much trouble. Would highly recommend this property for anyone wishing to spend a holiday in a lovely part of the world & in a quiet location yet handy for Banbury, Warwick & Leamington Spa plus of course the many pretty villages/pubs in the Cotswolds.

“A Haven of peace and quiet.”
Reviewed October 26, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Honeysuckle Cottage is just lovely.

It's a beautiful cottage in an idyllic little village. It's one of three owned by Barry, whom, I have to say is just the most welcoming and accommodating cottage owner that I have ever met. The directions to the cottage were spot on and we had no trouble finding it. Barry lives on site and is more than happy to recommend places to eat or go in the area. You can tell he has put his heart and soul into his cottages and is really proud of them.

Barry has fitted out the cottages to a very high standard and Honeysuckle cottage is no exception. The cottage is a studio but feels like a luxury hotel room with a kitchenette. The four poster bed is beautiful and very comfortable. The kitchen is so well equipped, everything you need is there. The monsoon shower in the wet room is great. The whole cottage is clean and tidy and feels warm and snug thanks to some rather fab underfloor heating.

We really enjoyed our stay at Honeysuckle Cottage. We were able to visit some of the National Trust properties in the area, Upton House is just down the road and Stowe is stunning. The beautiful Cotswolds villages are nearby too. There are lots of lovely pubs and restaurants in the vicinity and we particularly enjoyed The Castle at Edgehill. I completely relaxed and chilled out during my stay and felt completely at home at Honeysuckle cottage.

We will definitely be back and I am already looking forward to it.
