“You couldn't ask for anything more... we loved it!”
Reviewed February 25, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Me and my best friend stayed here for the weekend in February. We wanted a quiet, relaxing get away where we could chill out and do nothing in a nice comfy environment...
This is exactly what Lavender Cottage delivered! Barry was the perfect host, extremely welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable about the area- an overall lovely and genuine guy who made us feel very happy to be there.

The cottage/ studio was perfect- small and compact but had everything we needed. Well equipped and modern kitchen breakfast bar, very comfy sofa, good sized telly, modern and very clean bathroom with great shower. Underfloor heating made the place extremely cosy- it was hard to find a reason to leave the cottage (particularly as it was raining but we were quite happy inside!). We both had a fantastic nights sleep in the bed which was comfier than my own with extremely soft linen.

It would be great for friends wanting to escape for a relaxing weekend and would also be fab for a couple looking for a romantic get away. We've already recommended to friends and will be back ourselves for sure. Really couldn't rate this place more highly. If your thinking about it- do it!

“Brilliant”
Reviewed February 14, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

We stayed in Lavender cottage for two weeks in January 2015 and loved it so much we went back in February too. A beautifully presented, immaculately clean and cosy room with every thing you need for a short break in the country. Barry is an excellent host and nothing was too much trouble if you needed any assistance or advice. A Great real ale pub "The Plough" which serves good food too in the village. Excellent accommodation , highly recommend . Thank you .

“Very warm and comfortable in a stunning location.”
Reviewed January 20, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

We enjoyed our stay here very much, Lavender Cottage was very warm clean comfortable and spacious with very modern and update facilities. The owner Barry was very attentive and was the perfect host, the village itself is a delight very quiet and quaint it has a lovely old inn the Plough which serves superb food at very reasonable prices, We will be staying here again this summer, both me and my wife can not wait.

“Owner double booked our cottage without informing us”
Reviewed November 15, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Lavender cottage was booked for 6 nights and deposit was paid by us in advance. The owner promised to give us the address after payment but he did not after several reminders. He told us to call him on arrival in town because his place was hard to find. I told him we had no mobile phone and suggested to cancel the booking if he did not give the address. He finally send us the address directions and did not answer my request for refund of the deposit. We arrived at his place after 13 hours driving from Belgium with a litlle baby (btw it was very easy to find without his help, even in the dark!). He came up to the gate and told us - big surpise- he had booked the room for somebody else. Asking about the reason, he said he became upset about my questions for the address (though he did ask mine). We were lucky to collect our deposit at his gate. What would have happened when we didn't show up?
I cannot judge about his accommodation, but I would say that this guy is not reliable and has a big ego (boasting about his tripadvisor certificates). Stick to his procedures, otherwise don't book here!

You cancelled your booking with me prior to you all coming as you said you had a very sick child I did email you my address I didn't have the internet
for 24 hours as there was some upgrading work being done I do respond to emails straight way .Your english was not good and you failed to mention that within 20 minutes I had booked you into a court yard setting in Mollington .I still have the email in which you wanted to cancel.I am very sorry that you didn't reply or phone back in regards to my emails we have had a lot of international guests from all over the world all with positive feed back Our cottages are always very busy when we get a cancellation it will show we have availability and we have a lot of last minute inquiry's

“Cosy country cottage for two”
Reviewed October 25, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

This lovely cottage should have appeared in ‘Amazing Spaces’ because it manages to get a living area, dining area, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom in less than 250 square feet. Located in a quiet Warwickshire village set in lovely surroundings you are assured of a restful stay.

The owner, Barry, lives on site and goes that extra mile to ensure that everything you may need is available. He keeps the cottage and the surrounding grounds in lovely condition.

The cottage has been fitted out to a high standard from the quality of the kitchen and bathroom fittings to the linen and bed coverings. The heating is underfloor and makes the cottage the cosiest place we’ve ever stayed in.

The kitchen has a two ring halogen cooker, electric fan oven, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The dining area has a bar with two stools.

The bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and wash basin.

The large television can be viewed from the settee in the living area or from the large double bed in the sleeping area. Wi-fi is available and free.

Outside there is a private patio area with a table and chairs plus a sun-lounger.

There is a local pub in the village about 10 minutes walk. A farm shop is less than a mile away. Banbury has a good range of shops and supermarkets and is about five miles away.

If you want a quiet country retreat with good customer service from the owner then look no further.

“Peaceful, picturesque, perfect.”
Reviewed September 4, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Lavender cottage is perfect for two, if you don't need large areas of living space. It is compact,
whilst having everything needed for a short or long term stay, kitchen area with dishwasher, cooker, hob and extractor fan, fridge, dining and seating for two,sofa,wi-fi &tv,
The bed and bedding were superb, obviously of the best quality with crisp white sheets, and the bathroom was spacious with ,again, top of the range fittings.A private terrace area with seating and a table was an added bonus. Very clean and well cared for by Barry, who was very helpful and on hand if needed. Peaceful village setting, within easy reach of Banbury and Leamington, with lovely villages dotted around.
