What a wonderful evening we had at this pub a couple of weeks ago. It has been one of the best meals out we've had; with a combination of truly delicious food, a charming characterful setting and friendly and attentive service in one place. Highly recommended if you are visiting the area. The menu had great variety and it was clear that a lot of care had gone into the dishes. Plates were presented well. But what really stood out was the colour, texture and flavour combinations of the food, which were exquisite. My fiancee particularly enjoyed the delicious chocolate pudding.
We felt very welcome here and will certainly be coming back again.

Our quiz team is losing a member to New Zealand so we celebrated a last lunch for a while. Starters were 3 baked brie and 2 prawn cocktail. Sounds a bit '60's but this was all bang up to date and beautifully served. Roast Beef, Roast Pork (with black pudding stuffing) and Plaice all yum. Gooseberry tart to finish with coffee. A truly wonderful lunch, calm and efficient service and great atmosphere. I am glad that this fine dining pub is a five minute walk from home!

We visited this pub for the second time and were not disappointed. The food was just what we wanted - delicious, fresh and well presented. The staff were friendly and attentive. I really felt like fish and my cod on a potato and prawn base with spinach and a pea puree just hit the spot perfectly. We used the Wykeham Arms for a family celebration a couple of years ago, and having thoroughly enjoyed yet another wonderful meal here we are now contemplating having another special occasion celebration there later in this year.

A great choice on the menu. Service was quick and the waitresses were very attentive and friendly. They really looked like they enjoyed working there and there was a lovely, friendly feel to the place.
The food was fabulous. Prawn platter to start with one of the most delicious pates I've ever had. The lamb main course was perfect. The only slight disappointment was the lack of solid, traditional desserts on the menu. There were ice creams, honeycomb in chocolate and a rhubarb sponge, which are well and good, but in my eyes you always need a firm favourite on a menu, a crumble or a treacle tart, or something warm to smother in custard. Especially when the online site still had the pecan pie and bread and butter pudding on the menu. However, sensing my disappointment, the kitchen were superb and rustled me up an exquisite sticky toffee pudding with jugs of custard. Top marks!

As we were staying nearby, this pub was recommended by the owners of our rental accommodation. What a lovely hidden gem! The landlord was attentive and nothing was too much trouble, we were told what was available in a smaller portion for our daughter too. Food was beautifully presented and tasted fabulous. Who knew Nachos could taste that good!
