I have never felt compelled to write a review for a restaurant before but after having my birthday meal at the Red Lion last night I simply had to write to say how seriously impressed I was. I have eaten at the Red Lion a number of times before and always thoroughly enjoyed it, but the food produced last night for our party of 5 was exceptional. A number of us had the fillet of Buckby beef with red wine and port sauce, blue cheese hash brown and rib fritters with shallot puree and it was simply delicious. The beef was cooked to absolute perfection and I cant wait to return to have it again! Huge compliments to the chefs and the fantastic waiting staff. Cant wait to visit again to try the pork and chorizo mash!
