I stayed here last only for one night but it was fine. It was nice and clean and quiet. It was close to the town centre so everything was close. The proprietors were very friendly and polite. I would defiantly stay here again if I was to work in the area again.

We booked over the internet and got great service even asking us when we would be checking in. We emailed a week before to say we would be earlier but that was no problem and we got a lovely reply back from the owners. The Ashlea is well situated at the top of town and the walk into town is about 10 minutes. the walk back a bit longer. we arrived at said time and check in was very quick and easy although payment for rest of stay was taken at this point which I found unusual. Room was well appointed and very clean and spacious with an on suite shower. The only thing we found a little disconcerting was the early breakfast times of 7.00 am to 8.15 am as we were on holiday and fancied a lie in. So for 2 days we missed what was a very nice brekkie on the first day. All in all a lovely place to stay and base yourself and I would return but would like a later breakfast time please

Room Tip: don't have a room near the front of the house its quite noisy unless you close the windows

Hello, thank you so much for your review. We are pleased that overall you enjoyed your stay with us. It's a shame you didn't mention the breakfast time to us whilst you were here as we will always try to accommodate requests for a breakfast outside of the normal time. We do sincerely hope that you'll choose to stay with us again if you are ever in the area and next time we will sort out the breakfast situation for you. Best regards, Julie

Great location if you are looking for Banbury place to stay. Plenty of car parking at the rear and at the front of the property. I had room 7 ensuite that was well appointed for the rate with everything you would need including WiFi that works! Ayman took me to the room and ensured I was settled into the room. The wall heater in the room provided a perfect level of heat throughout my one night stay. At check-on they will check when you are coming to breakfast in the morning to help with the planning - this was fine with me and is not uncommon. Great choice of breakfast options from the menu and the usual choice of cornflakes etc.

I would definitely use Ashlea Guest House for my next trip to the area.

Room Tip: Ensuite is optional so I would recommend the upgrade to the ensuite when booking

Found this place exceptional. clean, tidy, home from home, nothing was too much trouble as we came up from the south for the Moto g.p we arrived before 10 o'clock and was able to leave our luggage in the house so we could carry straight on to the track. the only downside is the newly laid gravel drive which was a bit of a hazard for motorbikes. breakfast A1 also Ayman & Julie were A1

Booked our overnight stay online after reading the numerous positive TA comments. Easy to find even without directions that I forgot to do, drive through Banbury and the Ashlea is at the raffic lights x roads and well signposted. There is plenty of private parking available. We were given a friendly welcome by the owners and advice of suitable pubs/restauarants all located just 10mins walk away in town. Our ground floor ensuite double room was cozy and faced the main road. We always sleep with the window open, however the traffic noise was noticable being so close to the main road with constant traffic all night long, fortunately we were so tired as we had landed at Heathrow that afternoon. The bathroom was extremely clean as was the bedroom. The breakfast was exceptional, we had requested on booking vegetarian and were pleased to have veggie sausages which was a thoughtful surprise. Our pot of tea was refilled without problem and brown bread toast was plentiful
Overall a pleasant stay with no problems, if only all guest houses were as clean and professional as the Ashlea.

This is one of many bed and breakfast places I've stayed at in Oxfordshire. It's a very good value -- not the best place to stay, but still very good value for money.

The ensuite room I was assigned was large and clean. My only complaint was that I lost sleep the first night because one side of the bed (the side I happened to sleep on that evening) was so worn out, it was uncomfortably lumpy -- the mattress had a deep valley on that side and clearly should have been replaced long ago. Fortunately, I switched to the other side of the bed the following nights and was able to sleep just fine after that.

Breakfast was very good -- they have an interesting arrangement because the breakfast room is too small to allow each guest room to have its own table, so they assign seating for breakfast in the morning. I ended up sitting with total strangers at the same table -- which was enjoyable the first day when I ran into a friendly traveler, but I can see that being uncomfortable for more private folks. The food itself was made to order -- typical English breakfast fare: Greasy and Delicious!

Overall, I thought I received my money's worth and would recommend the Ashlea Guest House to other travelers -- you just have to know what to expect.

More than delighted with my choice and will stay again. Although I was literally on a night stop and arrived late I found the owners very attentive and personable. The dashing out on my late arrival to ensure that I parked safely was much appreciated as well as the take away breakfast. I am in the area often and would definitely just rebook directly. Great little place at a great price. Thanks
