“very comfortable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2012

we stayed here as a group prior to a wedding. The garden rooms allocated to us, were very clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water and a pleasant outside seating area was at our disposal. the Super, friendly owners demonstrated a refreshing "can Do" attitude and served a good, well-cooked breakfast. Highly recommend this as a place to stay and very convenient for Banbury town centre

Room Tip: ask for the garden rooms if you are a party

We would certainly stay here again. The proprietors were very welcoming and helpful. We had a family room which was lovely, spacious and very comfortable. It felt like a hotel in some respects with attention to detail. Breakfast was lovely too & even our fussy little monsters enjoyed it! Good value for money too.

stayed in one of the chalet rooms at the rear and it was a very nice well presented room clean and tidy. relaxing and quiet and really close to Banbury town centre for shopping. Had a handy parking space right outside the door for easy access for unloading. we could not fault the breakfast it was spot on with really good service from the young lady Holly. We visit Banbury and the area often and will defiantly be stopping again.

Really good value for money, great breakfast and really accessible from the motorway and centre of Bambury. Clean and tidy rooms, good powerful shower and plenty of parking.

Fantastic stay, I was upgraded to the biggest chalet with my dog as it was the Christmas period and they were quiet. The room was clean and warm and had coffee, tea & biscuits. Alan & Maureen couldn't have been any friendlier or helpful if they tried. I stupidly got the breakfast time wrong on the 2nd morning but they still made me some toast. :o)
The only downside was the new houses being built next door as builders start early....Lol. This will obviously not be a problem when they've finished.
I will definately choose to stay here again if I need to stay in Banbury again.

We booked a twin room for the weekend of a nearby festival, we liked the look of the rooms from the website.
We were given an attic room up and down several flights of stairs, it was clean but cramped, and the view from the window was of a chimney.
The bathroom was like being on an aeroplane.
I lost count of the number of times I hit me head (I'm 5' 10") even just trying to brush my teeth.
We asked if all the twin/double rooms were the same price, and were told that they were.
If you're just looking for somewhere to lay your head it's fine, but if you're over 5 foot tall take a hard hat.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 8!

Thank you for your review. It's a shame you waited until you checked out to ask about our other rooms, I would have happily moved you to another room as there were others available. The bathroom in your room is a little cramped. I am currently awaiting a quote to remove the sloped ceiling in there.

I am pleased you found us clean and enjoyed our service.

We didn't enjoy our stay, the room was sold as a twin room when in fact it was only big enough to be a single, it was in the attic with little headroom in a large part of the room. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen, although I suppose was adequate, there was no wardrobe only a hanging rail not long enough for a dress. The room was dark, airless and the road noise was constant, the floor boards creaked at every move. Breakfast was average, not in quantity, but in quality and the dining room far to small. Sorry not impressed and will not return.

I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay but as in any hotel/shop/restaurant if you don't let us know you are unhappy there is nothing we can do to put it right for you. We are a guest house and each room is a different shape and size all conforming to our AA 3 star rating. Had we known you didn't like the room (in which 90% has 7.5ft headroom and a fiited wardrobe with a rail at 140 cm high) we would have moved you to another or helped you find alternative accommodation maybe in the countryside without the noises of a town.

Please see our previous review from a couple who stayed the same weekend.
