Our party of 7 friends and 2 young children stayed for 2 nights to see in the New Year.
Gib Tor Farm is in a great location between Leek and Buxton and was easy to find.
The Barn is amazing - interesting décor, cosy yet slightly bonkers. Everyone loved it.
It isn't luxurious and doesn't claim to be, but it is clean and welcoming with everything that you need feel at home.
Once the fires were lit it soon warmed up. Ample wood was provided.
The oven packed up on our arrival but luckily Kate's family were on hand to offer the use of theirs in the farm house. Thanks to Roz and Co for making us all feel welcome.
There isn't a TV or WiFi or mobile reception which made a refreshing change. Bring board games and entertain yourselves.
Great value and I highly recommend Gib Tor Barn

We stayed in Gib Tor last week for our annual Architects of Air meeting - it was the perfect place for us. Beautiful location, great building with different architects' contribution, comfortable sleeping for 24 people, super meeting places and delicious food prepared by lovely Kate, who could not have been a better host. If you are looking for an interesting place in the wilds but only only 15 minutes from Buxton we cannot recommend it enough ......THANK YOU Kate ...
We were a group of Alumni members of a university hillwalking club. The house was perfect, so spacious and lots of room to socialise and stay warm with the two log fires. The location meant we could easily get out walking in the Peaks and we didn't even feel the need to go out for dinner and instead we did a fish and chip run into Leek and sat around enjoying a beer / glass of wine by the fire.
A fantastic place to stay with friends at a very reasonable price. As someone said we are slowly going up in the world after our many nights in sleeping bags on barn floors.
Many thanks to Kate for preparing the bunkhouse so nicely.
