my son and myself have just had an exhausting (but very pleasent) weeks rambling around the peaks and dales of this beautiful county, and every visit gets better and more enjoyable, with more to explore time and again.

its our 5th visit also to braemar guest house and after a hard days footslogging over the moors and hills this establishment is a very welcome sight indeed to come to for a well earned rest.

Maria and Roger's knowledge of this area is quite comprehensive, and the advise they have given us both on this visit and previous ones has helped us enormously to see a good cross section of this extemely scenic part of Derbyshire and the national park.

The guest house is as we have always found it in the past, quiet, very central to Buxton's amenities and very comfortable, and of course the breakfasts, (we would not put them in the category of a 'Buxton belly buster') are very substantial, and very welcome to a start to a good days walking and sightseeing.

we would recommend anyone looking for a good deal to cast a keen eye over this place. As for us, we hope to have another treat up there well before christmas.

Keep up the good work Braemar, and hope you always have space for us. Many thanks again to you both

We returned to Braemar again for the 2nd year running and found the same warm welcome from Roger and Maria, who greeted us like old friends. The rooms have been upgraded since last year and have flat screen TVs on the walls. The breakfast room is warm and cheerful and the breakfasts warm and filling. I cant say enough about the breakfast, you can go all day on one. Good work from Roger & Maria, we will be back there again.

my wife and myself (also our young family of early teens) recently enjoyed an extended weekend break, four nights in all, and may i say it was a pleasure not only to be in buxton, and exploring the peak park, but to be well looked after by roger and maria at braemar guest house, nothing appeared to be to much trouble and their extensive knowledge of the area was a great help to us all when planning days out.
we found the house to be quiet and peaceful, which after day of foot slogging over the peaks and dales was a welcome sight to come back to.
the rooms we booked were well furnished and very comfortable, and the breakfasts, with all the accompanying choices were more than enough for all of us.we also felt that the tariff we paid for the four nights was certainly not over the top here, and we would without doubt make this establishment a regular stop over for ourselves and our family every time we visit this beautiful part of england.
full marks braemar for a very enjoyable stay, and we hope to be guests again in the very near future.

We were not made to feel in the least bit welcome at the Braemar, where the standards seem to have suddenly declined.
Our room was poorly furnished and only superficially clean, with several areas needing attention, including the teacups.
The breakfast ordering system had been made as inconvenient as possible, and the full breakfast was not cooked properly.
This was an exceptionally poor B&B, compared with several other similarly graded and priced establishments that we have stayed at.

Many thanks Awalker23 for your kind words , we remember you well and thought what a charming couple you were and how you appeared to be enjoying your three night stay with us, and of course the beautiful Peak District scenery ( the weather was also very kind to you too !) But supprisingly it appears that we have hit the `jackpot` here without realising it , and not only got one thing wrong .....,but everything !!?? Never mind , its a shame that all the hundreds of happy and appreciative guests we have had ( this year alone so far ) would certainly not share with you ,your perhaps a little indifferent and may I say slightly bizarre veiw of `Braemar` No worries , you are quite welcome back any time , and we hope the weather will be as good for you as it was on your first visit ! Kind Regards R&M

Will make this a firm favourite every time we visit Buxton , we have tried many establishments in the Peak Park , but will definately be returning to Braemar Guest House on a regular basis from now on, In brief , very clean , excellent facilities and welcoming hospitality, not forgetting plenty of traditional food to enjoy , before a days sightseeing and generally sampling the delights of Buxton and the Peak Park . Found also that this place is great value for money, ( as other travellers have also mentioned ) We will be returning very soon for another great stay . Many Thanks
