“Amazing place to stay in the Peak District”
Reviewed August 10, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

we had a wonderful couple of weeks staying in the cottage. Neil and Doota were fantastic hosts and couldn't have done more to make sure we had a fantastic holiday. The animals were very friendly and were very happy around our 9 month old the farm felt like it was in the middle of nowhere but was within easy driving distance of all the main attractions. The cottage is well equipped and the rooms, especially the bedrooms, are sizeable. We look forward to returning when our daughter is old enough to appreciate it!

“Truely wonderful”
Reviewed June 2, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We spent half term at Fernyford Barn with our two children (8 and 6). It was the most perfect place to explore the delights of the Peak District. The barn itself is beautiful, spacious and equipped with everything you could need. Neil and Dorota were brilliant hosts and happy to tell us all about the farm.

We would recommend Fernyford Barn without hesitation and look forward to staying again next time we visit the Peak District.

“Wondeful location with friendly hosts, the ideal place for a family holiday!”
Reviewed May 6, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

My wife and I stayed at the farm with our 4 month old baby and we had an amazing time at the hotel. The accomodation is advertised as being baby friendly and I'm pleased to say it definitely was as a baby bath and cot were provided and there was even an offer to organise baby sitting if we wanted it!

The accomodation is finished to a high standard and is well equipped with the various things you might need for a holiday. However, its the location and the people that really make this a special place to stay. The farm is located in what feels like the middle of nowhere so its the perfect place to escape the world of office work, yet there are plenty of things to do near by and there are a number of good pubs within driving distance that serve good food. That being said, Neil and Dorota butcher the farms meat on site, so there's a plentiful supply of sausages, burgers and steaks on site that will make you want to cook your own meals rather than head to the pubs. If you stay here I'de definitely recommend the meat balls! They were amazing!

Neil and Dorota were brilliant hosts and were always around to say hello and check we had everything we needed. They also went the extra mile with little things, like letting us know they were going to be sheering their rare breed sheep from Switzerland, so that we could go and watch. I can safely say that our baby daughter was blown away by this!

I'd definitely stay here again (even if its just to taste the meat balls again!) and would thoroughly recommend this for people with families who are looking to escape to the countryside for a bit.

Liked best: The hosts, the location and the fresh meat you could buy!
Liked least: If I has to say something it would be that the Wifi wasn't great, but its not the sort of place you go to spend time on the internet anyway.

“A fantastic holiday that has created lasting childhood memories.”
Reviewed April 14, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

An excellent cottage on a working farm, the cottage was very well equipped, warm and very comfortable. (It was better than 5 star cottages we have stayed in.) The experience was exceptional, our daughter loved the farm and helping with the animals, she tells people it is the best holiday ever! Neil, Dorota and family were very welcoming and friendly, they were more than happy for us watch and help around the farm and with the animals.
A great area for exploring the Peak District, great walks and cycle rides very close by. We had a fantastic holiday and will return again soon.

The barn has everything and more you could possibly need on a self catering holiday and is finished to a very high standard. A really well as a really well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and superb shower/bathroom. We couldn't have been made more welcome by Neil and Dorota, thanks very much for showing us the sheep and your wonderful farm! The location is perfect for exploring all that this beautiful part of the country has to offer.
If your think about booking I would highly recommend.
