This is the best B&B I have ever visited. Excellent room, bed very comfortable, beautiful furnishings, great attention to detail, plentiful well-cooked breakfasts, very well equipped guest lounge & easy walk to the centre of town. Jean the host is very welcoming, helpful & friendly.

Would definitely recommend.

this is an exceptionally clean guesthouse...room quite large with kingsize bed....the proprieter has very old fashioned ship shape and bristol fashion standards...so dont come here expecting a rave...stick with a travelodge...!!
top marks..

Nothing Alpine about it - an old Victorian house in the heart of Buxton, very well located. Jean is a very welcoming hostess, helpful and friendly. My room was large with a huge bed, with two large bay windows looking onto the street. The bathroom small but clean and functional, with a good shower. There are lots of thoughtful touches, and the decor is tasteful and restrained. Breakfast excellent, and a good selection of tea/coffee and toiletries. Free wi-fi.

This is an absolutely first rate B&B and I endorse all the other 5* reviews

We wanted something cosy, yet large enough for 3 couples, with parking and within walking distance of the town's many attractions. We were not disappointed!
Jean, the owner, has equipped the rooms superbly and they are very spacious, even with a super king bed for a 6'4" member of our group!
The residents' lounge was equipped with stereosystem, TV, DVDs, hundreds of CDs, books, magazines and a range of local interest brochures that the Tourist Office would be envious of having.
Breakfast was absolutely wonderful with a superb range and choice (order the previous evening) - it really set us up for the days ahead.
The guest house was very well placed for walking access to restaurants and bars, and to the Buxton Opera House, whose list of forthcoming shows would put many larger towns to shame.

Room Tip: All rooms are spacious and quiet, as the house is set back from a quiet road in a backwater just a few minutes walk from the town centre.

We stayed just for one night at the Alpine for a return trip to my hometown for a family wedding. What a find, Jean has certainly made this b/b exceptional with beautiful breakfasts, cleanliness of rooms and all those special little touches. I have already recommended it to all my family who still live in Buxton. Will definately visit again.Thank you also to Jeans sister who has transformed the terrace garden.
