“Lovely.”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

Husband and myself stayed in this charming guest house while attending a wedding at the Pavillion Gardens. Room number 1 was spotless, en suite, lovely fresh smelling bedding, fluffy towels, tea/coffee making facilities. Very nice landlady who made us very welcome and made a delicious full english breakfast with a huge pot of tea.

I styed with my husband and my friend from Australia for 2 nights in April 2013. Sue is an excellent hostess, very friendly. The rooms are lovely, nice bed and bedding and lovely towels. The rooms have everything you require, tea making, television, and hardryer and toiletries in the bathroom.
The guest house is situated very near to shops and places to eat and very handy for the buses to nearby places.

Well done Sue, really enjoyed our stay.

I stayed here with my wife on a kgb deal and was delighted with it.The landlady Sue was very friendly and made you feel very welcome. We were in room 2 on the first floor which looked out onto the road at the side, but there was never any noise. The room was a good size with everything you needed, including a good shower with plenty of good quality towels provided, and the bed was very comfortable also.Sue's legendary breakfast more than lived up to expectations. The guest house was situated just off the main street and was well situated for eating houses and pubs.We used the Old Sun Inn which was 2 minutes walk, and provided decent food at reasonable cost.We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area, with no hesitation.

Room Tip: Room 2 was very comfortable.

Lovely room, perfectly made up and would put some hotels to shame! sue is very friendly and happy to chat and offer advice on places to go. Towels a plenty and everything you need is in this room. Def a home from home. We love Buxton and the pub the old sun inn is a two second trot from here, gorgeous old traditional pub complete with snugs.

Def will return again and again £58 including breakfast in the peaks is an amazing price. Costs a lot more in castleton at £90 a room excluding breakfast

Give it a go you won't be disappointed, Kerri, Paul and 5 years old ;)

What more can you ask for?
The location was very central to the town and all it has to offer. Spent our evenings researching the real ale trail but for us it was disappointing as a lot of the bars did not have what we would consider to have real ales. A lot had Marston's. The Buxton beers were found in the Queens Head on the main street and the Old Hall Hotel. Ramsay's Real Ale Bar has some different ales on offer. We will have to return one summer so that we can enjoy the sights.
Back to the B&B - the rooms were very cosy and well appointed. The bed was comfy with lovely bedding.
In the morning we all had a full English which was very tasty - thanks Sue. It was lovely to feel so welcome. We have told Sue that we hope to return one day so judge for yourself....

We booked this B&B via a KGB Deal and were very warmly greeted by Sue who saw us settled into our room. Sue gave us some good recommendations for local restaurants. The room, although a little dated in decor, was immaculately clean and the beds very comfortable with lovely linens. Breakfast was very substantial and as good as any I've had elsewhere. Unfortunately we had to cut short our stay due to fears about being stuck in Buxton in the snow, but we wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone else, and it certainly wasn't any reflection on Ash Corner !
