“Lovely location”

Found this hotel on Laterooms. Very good value. Loved the Origami novelty of the towels. Beds were clean and comfortable. Plenty storage. Adequate tea and coffee supplies. There wasn't enough electric sockets and they were not easily accessible being under the dressing table and behind the bedside cabinet. We had to unplug things in order to plug in our own equipment. I was disappointed with the ensuite which although nice and clean lacked any form of heating and was cold and therefore felt damp. The towels had to be in the bedroom to dry. The shower in the bath was in the form of a mixer tap which was hard to control and fluctuated dangerously as the water supply was used by the rest of the property. Not ideal for young or elderly. Perhaps I watch 4 in a Bed too often but I was aware of a layer of dust along the skirting board in places and on the electric socket. I appreciate my visit was perhaps early in the season and perhaps that room (being on the top floor) hadn't been used in a while. Breakfast was served a bit early for holiday makers I think even an extra half hour till 9.30 would be welcome. Not everyone wants or needs to be up and out every morning. The staff were very pleasant and attentive but I would have liked the older waitress to smile and be more welcoming. The younger girl was very charming. Be aware we could not get a space in the car park one evening but there is on street parking adjacent to the hotel. If back in Buxton in the future I would go back to this hotel I may have been critical but it didn't spoil our stay.

Room Tip: The bathroom lets room 8 down

We stayed for 2nights at this hotel. Location was perfect and the welcome I have to say was very friendly. On entering the hotel I felt it was a bit dated and was hoping the room was going to be good as we were booked for 2 nights ! We had a front bedroom over looking the gardens which was lovely the room was nicely decorated in golds and creams, although the room was a bit small I was pleasantly surprised. My only critism is the en suit was way to small, the shower had no power and I really missed a bath ! Especially when I've been out walking all day. I think with the price we paid we should have had better bathroom facilities.
Very good full English breakfast, not much continental, fresh fruit, or cereal choice. Overall a nice stay but wouldn't go back at that price.

Room Tip: When booking ask for a bath if like me you like a soak !

A large Victorian villa set in a park, within 5 minutes walk of the Opera House and town centre. Room was large and clean, with effort put into arranging the towels in a decorative way. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Hotel was quiet for a nights sleep., There is parking at the back. Decor was rather dated and tired looking but everything else was good. Breakfast was OK but not anything special.

We had a large room at the top of the house - good beds, clean, quiet and everything worked well. (Note no lift) Breakfast was very good in real English style though the hours , 8 to 9 in the week, seemed a little restrictive as holiday makers. Parking easy. Access to Buxton very easy. Competitive pricing. Friendly.

Attractive location within easy walking distance to Buxton attractions.
Although not a luxury hotel it is clean, welcoming and very good value for money. The breakfast is cooked to order and therefore delicious. We would definitely choose the Westminster for another visit and would recommend it to friends and family.

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel last weekend and had a lovely twin room overlooking the Pavilion Gardens, which we did ask for and got, avoiding Shelley paying the commission by booking direct instead of through booking.com. Easy walk into town past the Pavilion Gardens, nice, cosy lounge which we did use in the evenings, excellent freshly cooked breakfast served by pleasant staff. My husband did find his single bed a bit hard, but cant say I did, both had 2 good nights sleep tho.
Parking bit restricted but Shelley let us park in front of the hotel, until a space became available later in the day. Would deffo stay here again when we come to Buxton. It was so cold too in Buxton, and the hotel was so lovely and warm, which was nice.

Room Tip: Rooms 11 & 12 have a gardens view

We have always stayed at the other side of Buxton thought we would try something new. The hotel overlooks the lake and the view from the bedroom is beautiful and the same with the breakfast room. Bedroom was lovely and very clean bathroom is a little cramped as is normal with a lot of these B&B s and toilet was a little rocky but this is a minor issue that can be easily resolved. Breakfast was very good and I cannot wait to stay again.
