“Great central location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

Stayed at The Queen's Head Hotel in August while walking in the Peak District. Superb value for money with quality clean rooms, my favorite find of the trip was pub selling Buxton Bitter (Moor Top). Great breakfast and friendly staff

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

We stayed at the Queens Head in July for 3 nights. The room was very comfortable, if not a little small and set at the rear but not joined to the pub. Unfortunately the rooms window looked out on to the pub car park which on Saturday night became the smoking area for every drunk frequenting the pub.

The noise didn't abate until about midnight and by this time we were wondering about the wisdom of booking Bed & Breakfast at a pub! Thankfully the remainder of our stay went without event.

Breakfast was plentiful and nice, but the whole thing gave the impression that this was anew venture. For example the butter or spread was taken from a communal tub placed on another table. The staff were very pleasant and a few tweaks would probably sort a few things out.

The place was situated centrally in Buxton and you will never be short of a pub to frequent in the area!

Parking was a problem as the staff seemed to park wherever they wished making a small car park a trial of your motoring skills to arrive or leave.

Room Tip: Beware of Saturday nights where ever you sleep.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on TripAdvisor. Since your stay we lock the back door at 11pm so as to avoid noise for residents and have also completed a schedule of modernisation, including building 6 new rooms. I'm sure the tweaks you mention have been fully ironed out now and hope to welcome you back in the future to experience our very high standards.

Kindest Regards
