Its not surprising that the locals even steer clear from this place. We we were warned off by several but decided to give them benefit of the doubt. The prices were ridiculous, the chips were dry and old. Not a single smile from any staff, its a shame, they have a great location but won't get any returning business. Avoid

reheated old chips ' a cods finger and a couple of little sausages with drinks £20.20 , its a complete disgrace , never again.
They should be ashamed of what they do. No wonder the coffee shops are full .

Today a guest and myself attended Chippy Place High St. Buxton .They did have specials @ £7.50 which incl'bread and butter and tea,but we decided to have alternative of steak pudding ,chips, peas and gravy and meat and potato pie, chips, peas and gravy, plus 2 mugs of tea.We had to wait 15 mins for someone to take our order, even though ony 2 other tables were waiting for their meal to arrive.
Ten minutes later we asked for our tea to be served. When the meal arrived there was a black finger mark on my plate. The chips were only 40% edible. There was a pool of tea in my saucer after it was deliveredThe real knockout was the bill of £18.60.We finished up paying £3.60 more for a non fish meal.2 fish would have added a further £5.60 to our meal price ie £24 .20. This is daylight robbery on a big scale. Give this restauant a wide berth.Bon appetite.
