A brilliant little network of caverns. The stalactites and stalagmites are great and at this time of year you will find Santa's grotto down there.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

I visited Poole's Caverns with my husband in October of 2012. We weren't disappointed. Entrance fee is very reasonable and allows you a years pass, it has a lovely little gift shop and cafeteria attached, and is close to other attractions such as go ape and woodland walks.

The tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and witty, and made it very entertaining and informative. The caves themselves are spectacular, literally dripping with history!

The floors are of course a bit slippery so you have to take extra care walking round. Wrap up warm as even in summer it is consistently cold.

After the caves we had a bite to eat in the cafeteria. My husband went for a ham and cheese toastie, and I the mushroom soup, which was very good.

The river running through it was in full flow and added to the experience.Wouldnt have minded a little more time , the guide though very knowledgable seemed in a bit of a hurry.
