Myself and a couple of friends came to the Buckingham for its food and bar - we were not dissapointed. Its a lovely bar more what you would expect from a decent pub rather than a hotel.
We loved the menu which had a wide variety of choice and the descriptions made us laugh out load - whoever wrote the menu had a great sense of humour. The food was excellent 10/10.
They had loads of excellent spririts on the shelves behind the bar, and two very nice barmen who served us some super cocktails. The hotel is really nice, the staff were all really nice and friendly. We were very impressed and would definately choose the Buckingham for our next trip.
I saw a few negative comments about some of the bedrooms being a bit dated etc .. I think this is true of hotels in the peak district in general. Its a taste of an England long gone, embrace and enjoy I say!
