“Lovely night away from the world”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

Absolutely loved our stay at Stoop Farm. Husband and I with our 3 month old baby stayed one night during a visit to the Peak District. Beautiful setting with wonderful views over the countryside. Rooms were all toasty warm and very welcoming. tea and cake on arrival and we opted for the 2 course dinner which Karen prepared - roast beef, awesome. Breakfast was also lovely. We enjoyed the hot tub experience which was the perfect way to end the holiday. We really hope to visit again and enjoy some of the local walks. Thank you to Karen

We stayed in The Hayloft for a week. The location was stunning, room was beautiful, breakfast really good and Karen was a really nice hostess - have no negatives at all! The location is good for visiting the surrounding area and there are various eating places nearby for evening meals.

From the welcome to the leaving we could not fault Stoop Farm. Having stayed in many b and b's home and abroad we both agreed this was faultless which is something we could not say of others.
We stayed in the Hayloft with its huge bed, fantastic bath with hill views, and amazing peace all around. Breakfast is a delight with choices galore. The home made granola is to die for ( thanks for thr recipe Karen) even the toast is awesome! Walks abound from the door with maps provided. We tried Buxton spa for the first time which is fifteen mins away by car and were bowled over by the reasonably priced treatments in a relaxing enviroment.
Karen is a perfect hostess nothing too much trouble and always. Lucky people who choose to get married here, made me wish we weren't already wed.
Cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: Hayloft but sure all rooms are great

I booked the Hollins Hill room for one night based on tripadvisor and it went beyond my expectations!
The B&B is on a working farm (1000 sheep), in a quiet secluded spot. It is very restful. But at the same time, it's just a stone's throw away from Buxton, so we had no problem at all going out for a meal.
We went in February and there were heavy snowfalls. My husband was hoping to test his new snow chains but we didn't need them. The tractor had already cleared the road. Karen would have given us a lift in the 4x4 if needed! The view outside with a layer of spotless snow was beautiful.
When we arrived, Karen showed us to our room and I thought 'I wish my house looked so neat'! Lovely French style. Nice organic toiletries in the bathroom. Gorgeous artwork by local artists. Then we settled down for a tremendous piece of cake (lemon and poppy if I remember correctly) and a cup of tea. Aaah. Immediate relaxation, better than a massage. We looked at the photo albums: old pictures of the family across the ages, photos of the renovation. The B&B is heated geothermally. Cool, isn't it?
Comfy bed. No noise at all. The breakfast was fabulous - it well deserves its awards.
Sad to go. Can't wait to come back.

Room Tip: Hollins Hill has a view of the countryside. Large bath tub and shower cubicle.

After reading previous reviews on trip advisor we just had to visit and see what all the fuss was about! We were greeted with home made cake and coffee which was yummy. The room was superb, very clean, lovely views, gorgeously decorated to a very high standard. Great walks and scenery locally too. Perfect break on all counts and ticks all the boxes! We will be back and that's a promise! The breakfast was brilliant too!

Just returned from 3 very happy nights at Stoop Farm with my wife and 3 children.
We were very well looked after, were thrilled with the rooms, loved the food and took full advantage of the wonderful walks and scenery on our doorstep.
Would highly recommend.

My wife booked us an overnight stay at the farm for my 40 & a 1/2 birthday. We were warmly greeted, although we were late arriving from our stated time of arrival & our room was still being serviced. We decided to go for a walk in the stunning local country side. We returned a few hours later & ventured up to our lodgings, the room was beautifully presented & has been done to a very high standard & the bed was so so so very comfy. The owners had thought of everything the welcome pack was full of places to go to eat, mapped out walks, & things to do locally. Breakfast was a delightful Derbyshire full breakfast, using local produce, farm fresh eggs & oat cakes.
Although only here a day we felt very refreshed & were given an exceptional visit, we will definitely return.
