I used this guest house in May 2011 as a base to explore the Peak District. As per all the other reviews the owner is fantastic. Suzie is very helpful, considerate and goes out of her way to make your stay enjoyable. Our room was nice and a reasonable size. The breakfast was good and the local facilities are all within easy walking distance. There is free off street parking and the guest house is very clean. I would highly recommend this cosy guest house to everyone. Its an ideal base in Buxton for explotring the Peak District.

Many thanks Suzie - Robert & Vivien - May 2011.

We have stayed at The Buxton Lodge several times over the past 2 years as well as recommending it to family and friends. Suzie the owner is always very warm and friendly and cooks a great breakfast. The rooms are spotlessly clean, comfortable and well appointed for a small B&B. Will definitely be going back later this year!

As the other reviews have stated, the owner is the best thing about this b&b! She is so welcoming and will go out of her way to make you comfortable and happy. The guest house is a five minute walk from the town centre, located within a quiet neighborhood. It is extremely clean and modern, all rooms have en-suites and breakfast was brilliant!
Much more comfortable and cheaper than the hotels in the area, definitely recommend this guest house to anyone!!

I cannot compliment this place and Susie highly enough! Knowing my colleague and I would be arriving at 1am, she organised a way for us to get the key whilst causing minimum disturbance.

We were put on the top floor so we wouldn't be disturbed in the morning and there was even a little heater in my room as she was concerned that it might be cold because we were arriving after the central heating was off.

Clean, comfortable and amazing friendly and welcoming without being suffocating. We will definitely be back!

Wow! I have stayed in a lot of B&Bs in my time but never had a welcome like this. Suzie can not do enough for you. Nice room 6 very quiet an the wife enjoyed the view of the fire station , can't understand why must be a woman thing!
I could not fault breakfast just the way I like it and didn't have to rush. Very close to many pubs, food places and shops.
The resident boxer is a big softie. This place is a hidden gem and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It was so nice to walk in today and smell jam being made in the kitchen.
Loving it here and still have two days left.

Very welcoming guest house, our room was a little dated in decor (other rooms on internet seem much more modern) but the owner put at back of house as roadworks were in operation when we arrived. The owner could not of been more helpful and cooked a lovely breakfast, with plenty of cereals to choose from. The guest house is easy walking distance to Buxton. Bakewell very nice place to visit. We paid £48 per night per room which was good value. Owner even offered to store our bakewell tart or any items in the fridge until we left. Would recommend this hotel.

Stayed at Buxton Lodge Guest House for one night to break up the journey home after a week in the Lake District. We were a party of eight - five adults, three children - and were accommodated wonderfully (we had the top floor all to ourselves). The Guest House was very clean and beautifully decorated, with lots of lovely little touches throughout. Our room had everything you could need - nothing had been overlooked. Good choice of TV channels too, which makes a nice change! Suzie the owner was so friendly and made us feel so welcome - offering us fresh milk for our room when we arrived in case we didn't want to use the milk in the cartons and even giving us some bread to feed the ducks at the local park! Breakfast the following morning was also fantastic - great choice of cereals, and a wonderful full english!! Being afraid of dogs I was a little worried about the resident boxer, but I needn't have been - she was very placid and didn't really move from her chair in the corner. I cannot fault Buxton Lodge at all, and would recommend it highly. Note payment is by cash or cheque only.
